A/N: I think it's abundantly clear I absolutely love writing things including the Terrestrials. They are a little overrated, but nothing will make me hate them. They're wonderful.
I don't mean to write it like this happened in the actual show, it's just.. a mini AU that I try to make stick as close as I can to the show.
STORY OUTLINE: Earth gets hurt in a game of asteroid dodgeball. They're humanoid, so asteroid collisions work differently especially because Earth has an atmosphere.
CONTENT WARNING
- Description of injuriesPERSPECTIVE: Third person, mostly Earth's but occasionally focuses on other characters.
STORY NOTES
- Mercury and Luna might be a tad bit of out character..? I REALLY tried so if they're OOC, tell me and I'll work on it next time I make a chapter like this.
- This story is written in the context that they're all friends and get along most of the time. The timeline is anbigious, but takes place after Earth's Redemption, the Orbit Switching, The Rocky Planets, and The Moon Crashing to Earth.—
"Nice work, Mars!" Earth shouted as he dodged an asteroid that came a little too close for comfort. Whatever, this was his game. He could do this. Mercury, Luna, and Venus were in charge of the tallies of who won each round. They were on the sixth round, and Earth was winning six to zero. The entire time Venus had been barking at them to not be too reckless, which Earth had come to recognize as him caring about them and not wanting them hurt. He was flattered, in all honesty.
"Same for you," Mars nodded, collecting some of the asteroids with his gravitational pull. Earth deftly dodged an imaginary opponent, throwing a smaller asteroid upwards so it'd likely get trapped in Mars' gravity.
Earth, in his eagerness and adrenaline to get one more point, tripped over an asteroid below him. He tried to stop himself, but he ended up crashing to the ground, clutching his stomach. The wind was practically knocked out of him, and he rolled onto his back to try catching his breath. A collective gasp filled the air, and Luna practically teleported to his side. Venus and Mars followed soon after, Mercury being the last.
"It's just a fall, my ribs just hurt, I think,' Earth spoke, pulling himself up with a groan. He had a tolerance for pain, but it wasn't fun falling flat on your face in front of everybody. With a wince, he lifted his hand off his stomach, his expression faltering as blood seeped through his white hoodie. He fought back the darkness ebbing at his vision; the heat of his wound burned against him despite the cold.
"Oh," he breathed out as panic gripped him. "Oh."
Earth tried to speak, but to his horror, any words he prepared dried up in his throat. He swayed forward, stumbling into Luna, who caught him in ready arms. His vision went completely black in response, but he didn't give in. He needed to grab onto something so the pressure would jar him awake. He clutched at Luna's arms as the other shouted, "We have to help him, now!" the moon was clearly worried, but his voice didn't waver.
Earth allowed himself to slump his weight into Luna's supporting arms as he strived to give into the black that had been constantly biting at his vision, but the darkness didn't come. There were only more waves of pain as adrenaline continuously flooded through Earth's veins. He didn't understand. This entire time he had to fight off the icy holds of unconsciousness, but now that he could have it, his heart was beating too fast to allow it. Luna was speaking rapidly above him to someone, and Earth slouched forward even more.
"Don't pass out," Luna murmured to him as he supported him, pulling him forward. Earth wasn't sure when Luna noticed his wound, but he was making sure not to brush against it. They kept walking until Luna sat him on something soft, prompting him to lie down
