A/N: Look. I LOVE the gas/ice giants... but you know who else I love more? The terrestrial planets! They're so fun to write.

SHIPS: Not explicitly written, but you can see ships between certain characters if you really think about them that way.

THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS:
- Sassy Mercury. We need a sassy Mercury comeback, he was iconic in that era. Guys,  I am SORRY if I mischaracterize them!

- A bit of a personal headcanon. Basically, the inner solar system is the main transmit for news and communication being sent without orbits being disrupted. That's mentioned a couple times in this oneshot, so be aware of that! Oh and, for those who haven't read some of my earlier fanfics, belt checks are asteroid belt patrols where moons/planets check for potentially dangerous asteroids and report to the inner solar system VIA letters.

- Takes place after the moon revolution. Also, Luna and Mars' moons aren't here because they're at Moon Club. I'm just gonna go with the idea that as of now, Luna sometimes goes to those meetings.

Earth's eyes fluttered closed as he let Venus' recognizable voice wash over him. A strange comfort engulfed him, even if there usually was nothing comfortable about the last couple events. Earth had been slacking off of keeping information organized, and Venus had managed to do his job. The next time he saw Astrodude, he'd probably have to tell him everything new. Earth felt pride bloom in his chest, reminding himself of the astronaut's capability to handle himself.

It was a weird choice for Venus to immediately brief him on the asteroids spotted by Saturn's moons after he was fully conscious for more than a few minutes at a time. He had recently gotten hurled with a bunch of asteroids during an Asteroid Dodgeball game, and Venus had to manually stitch his wounds for hours. Either way, Earth welcomed the distraction, and he thought Venus was actually worried for him. Venus denied it when he spoke of it, of course. But afterwards his face slightly turned red as he hastily took out his briefing file, and Earth was flattered.

At the beginning of a twinge behind his back, Earth moved to prop himself higher against the asteroid he was sitting on. He moved too quickly, because the movement caused the stitches on his torso to tug at his skin, and he yelped. His hand flew to his side, and Venus stopped, his mouth turning into a concerned frown.

"Just... stop moving," Venus instructed, practically teleporting to Earth's side to re-check his wounds. Earth didn't refute, trying to will the pulsing of the stitches away even though his mind burned with humiliation. Venus was efficient, though, and even fussed over him a little, lecturing him on how unsafe he was.

But the universe clearly had a grudge against him, because at that moment Mercury and Mars chose to walk nearby, the former's eyebrows shooting up in amusement.

"Aww, you guys are so cute," Mercury grinned, hitting the jackpot. "I knew there was compassion in that cold, dead heart of Venus somewhere."

Earth squeezed his eyes shut and groaned in embarrassment as Mars let out light chuckles of amusement. Venus huffed an annoyed breath, muttering, "The only thing that's cold and dead is your body when they find you in the asteroid belt tomorrow."

"Welp, there you have it guys," Mercury strode with reassured steps, plopping a paper bag onto a floating asteroid (which they deemed as the dinner table). "If I'm found dead tomorrow, you know who it is."

"You two just can't be in the same room together." Mars said, sounding exasperated, before making a trail to Earth's side. "Hey," he smiled. "Glad to see you awake."
