Chapter 11

Mabibigla ka nalang talaga sa katotohanang ang liit liit lang pala ng mundo. Ang pagbabalik ng isa ay naging sanhi ng delubyo sa isa pa.

"You look so good, Flow." sabay tapik sa balikat ko. "Congratulations."

Plastik akong ngumiti. Sa totoo lang, ayoko siyang makausap. She left Mavy before. Why the hell she's here?

"Graduating right?" I look at her and nodded as an answer.

"I see. I'm teaching Pharm students in this school so as you can see..." she took her ID. "I'm a licensed educator now."

When Mavy and Janelle dated 2 years ago, second year college pa lang si Mavy while she's a graduating student non. Same degree, same course.

If she's teaching Pharm students, maybe she's the reason why Mavy is very busy and seems to be so off.

I clenched my fists and faced her once again. "Binibigyan mo ba ng maraming schoolworks si Mav?"

Hindi na ako nakapagpigil. Nasa loob ko pa rin ang galit na nararamdaman para sa kaibigan. This is why I don't want my friends to be hurting. Hindi pa naman uso sa vocabulary ni Mavy ang mag-open up.

"I gave these students some school works... Equally." she crosses her arms. "So don't think something bad about me." she added.

"I'm not dumb nor stupid, Ms. Sorianos." I chuckled bitterly.  "I have a strong instinct and belief that you're doing these in purpose."

She chuckled in disbelief but suddenly Khalil went to the scene.

"What's going on here?" he asked curiously.

"Long time no see, Khalil Nathan Salazar." magkakilala sila?

"You know each other?"

"Just a neighbour." mabilis na sagot ni Khalil.

Ayokong may mangyaring eskandalo dito kaya agad akong umalis at pumunta sa dressing room para makapagbihis.

Palabas na sana ako nang biglang...

"Are you dating that girl?" I overheard  Janelle talking with Khalil.

"No." he answered. Those words pierced my heart that I can't even explain. I thought we're dating, right?

I was about to leave when he added something.

"But I know that she's mine."

"You can't be serious, Khalil. Kinamumuhian ako ng babaeng yon!" galit na saad ni Janelle.

"If you treated her bestfriend right, you'll never receive even a little bit of hate from her." what? He knows about Janelle and Mavy's past?

Naguguluhan ako. Are they even connected? Kilala niya ba ang bestfriend ko? Magkaano-ano ba talaga sila?

"And please... Stop your immaturity. You're recruiting me to hate the girl who hates you." his eyes were raging in anger.  "You're an educator but you can't even act like one."

"Hindi ba't magbestfriend tayo? You shouldn't be friends nor have a relationship with someone related to my ex!" singhal ni Janelle. "I know we have bad blood but I wanna fix our friendship, Khalil." sabay hablot sa kamay ni Khalil.

"There's nothing to fix, Janelle." at inialis ang kamay ni Janelle sa kanya. "I don't like being friends with you."

Lumabas na ako sa dressing room. Their attention was drawn into me.

"Kanina ka pa ba diyan?" inis na tanong ni Janelle. Kung ipukpok ko sayo tong trophy?!

"Hindi ba halata?" sarkastiko kong tugon.

Khalil smirked and took my hands.

"Hinding-hindi ko ka-iinisan ang girlfriend ko." he looks at me.  "Girl best friend lang kita... Oh wait! Ex-girl bestfriend rather."

We left Janelle on the spot. He gave me another reason to love him, he protected me. Hindi parin ako makapaniwala sa nangyari kanina. I was just celebrating our victory when all of a sudden she showed up out of the blue!

"If you're gonna ask me something, just ask me right now." aniya habang naglalakad kami palabas ng campus.

"You know Mavy?" diretsahang tanong ko.

"Not at all..." tipid siyang ngumiti.  "I just know that she's your bestfriend nung sabay kayo kumain sa cafeteria."

"Paano mo nakilala si Janelle?"

"She's our neighbor nung sa FZ pa ako nag-aaral but she's studying here so medyo malayo-layo pa ang uuwian niya kapag galing siya sa campus."

"We have the same circle of friends, maybe 2 years ago. Kinukwento niya na may girlfriend siya, si Mallory. I supported her relationship even though I didn't even meet Mallory." he added.

"Bakit sabi mo she's just a neighbor kahit girl bestfriend mo yun?" takang tanong ko.

"Correction... Ex-girl bestfriend." pagtatama niya. "Kaya kami nag FO because I found out that she's a redflag, she don't even take her relationship with Mallory seriously. I can't tolerate that."

"You're such a greenflag pagdating sa friendships." I complimented him.

Nanumbalik sa utak ko ang sinabi niya kanina. Napatunganga ako saglit. Girlfriend? Wala namang kami ah?

"About sa sinabi ko kanina, I'm sorry" he bowed.  "The girlfriend thingy, I don't even know why I said that."

"Tanga okay lang! Patas na tayo noh! Ginawa ko rin kaya yun nung nasa jeep tayo." sabay tawa at paghampas sa likoran niya.

"Aray ha makahampas, wagas." he also laughed.

Paano niya ba nababasa ang saloobin ko? Ganyan niya ba ako kakilala?

Pagkauwi ko sa bahay,  inilagay ko ang trophy pati na rin ang korona sa mga collection ko.

"This is your 28th trophy, Flow." I smiled.  "May korona pa talaga."

Suddenly, my phone rings.

It was Mavy. I answered the call. I know she'll call me if she's not okay.

"Hello Mav? Kumusta ka na? Okay ka lang?  May masakit sa yo? Ano?" pag-aalala ko

"Beh alam mo na?" mangiyak-ngiyak na sambit niya sa kabilang linya. My bestfriend is crying.

"Oo beh alam kong nandito siya! I talked to her kanina. She said she's giving school works to your class equally." napabuntong hininga ako.  "Is it true? Fair lang ba?"

Bigla siyang humagulgol sa kabilang linya. I knew it!

"Sagutin moko Mav. Is it true or not?" inis na boses ang pinakawala ko.

"N-no" utal na sagot niya. Damn you, Sorianos!

"Fuck that bitch!" mura ko dahil sa galit. She can't make my bestfriend suffer like that. Porket estudyante niya ang bestfriend ko, papahirapan niya na? I'll never let this thing slide.

"Tahan na, I'll make sure she'll regret it." diin na saad ko.
