Chapter 33

Lucy's POV:

The film finished, Keira went into the kitchen to get us both a glass of water to bring to bed and letting narla out for a wee. Emily had fallen asleep which she normally did, that girl could sleep anywhere. Instead of attempting to wake her up, knowing it would lead to nothing I lifted her up and carried her up to her room and put her into her bed, pulling the covers over her. As I was turning her lamp off her phone started ringing from her bedside table, not wanting it to wake her up I was about to turn it off when the name across the screen caught my eye.
"What the fuck" I muttered under my breath feeling confused and angry. As the call ended her lock screen appeared and I saw there was 10 missed calls and 2 voicemails from her dad. I could feel the rage bubbling up inside me. Why was her trying so desperately to contact her, hadn't he already done enough. I glance at the sleeping girl next to me deciding to deal with all of this I'm the morning. I silenced her phone, kissing her head and leaving her room, closing the door behind me.

I walked into my room, greeted by Keira already tucked into bed.
"Everything okay?" She asked sitting up
"Uh, Emily's dad has been calling her all evening, which is weird" I told Keira sighing. She knew what happened with Emily so she knew how odd these calls were.
"Okay, that's really weird, we can talk about it with her tomorrow" she said as I changed into my pajamas. I agreed sliding into bed next to her after brushing my teeth.

I found it hard to sleep, I stared at the ceiling rubbing my hand up and down Keira's back as she slept, trying to work out why he would be calling her. I couldn't stop the thoughts swirling around my brain but I eventually fell into an uneasy sleep.
