Emily's POV:Me and Lucy ate the breakfast she made. I didn't want to but I knew I had to. I needed the energy for training and I knew Lucy wouldn't let me get away with not eating, especially after last night.
We got into the car and headed to training. I turned the radio up, not really in the mood to talk as there were too many thoughts going around my head. I've felt like my anxiety is getting worse lately. I usually feel okay going into training in the mornings but after I had those few days off I can't help the anxious feeling creeping up every time we near the training ground, and today is no exception.
I stare out the window trying to distract my brain from overthinking, which isn't working, when Lucy's hand on my knee snaps me out of my thoughts
"Are you alright, you've been very quiet" she asks looking at me, while the car is stopped at traffic lights.
"Uh yeah, just a little anxious but I'll be okay" i tell her honestly with a tight lipped smile, deciding to try and open up to her a bit more.
"Okay hun, tell me if anything gets too much today and I'll try and help" she says, returning the smile and starting the car again.
People are starting to find out I'm staying with Lucy and I'm getting some weird looks in the changing room. I don't understand why but it's really bothering me and adding to the anxiety I'm already feeling around football recently. I'm trying my hardest to ignore them but I can't help feeling uncomfortable. I don't know if I will be able to deal with this today as I'm already feeling so anxious.
