Lucy's POV:I emailed sarina this morning, asking if it was okay to bring Emily with me to camp. I explained the situation as best as I could without going into too much detail, knowing Emily would prefer I didn't but wanting her to understand the reasoning to my question . Camp was in a few days so I hoped i hadn't left it too late to ask.
I was making some breakfast for myself and Emily while I waited for her to wake up, it was a Saturday and neither of us had any plans so I was expecting Emily to have a lie in.
Just as I heard Emily making her way down the stairs my phone pinged from the counter beside me. I turned down the heat on the stove and picked it up, glancing at the screen. I saw I had received an email and quickly opened it, slightly anxious to read sarinas reply.
I grazed my eyes over the words and let out a sigh of relief when I read the words
'That should be no problem lucy, I'll let the staff know and sort the room arrangements out, I presume you will want to share with Emily' a small smile crept onto my face. I'm so grateful that sarina is so understanding.I glanced up from my phone, turning it off when Emily appeared in front of me
"Morning em, sleep well?" I asked taking in her groggy appearance with warm smile
"Yeah" she lets out while yawning
I chuckle as she sits down at the island and turn back to the bacon that's now cooked and begin to assemble the sandwiches for each of us
Once we have both eaten I choose this as the time to tell Emily the news. I'm still slightly apprehensive to bring the topic up again but Emily seems to be in a much better mood today which I'm grateful for
"Sarina said it's not a problem, she's going to arrange for us to share a room. Does that sound okay?" I ask, searching her face for a reaction
"Yeah Luce, that sounds good" she reply's , giving me a sincere smile which calms my nerves. Even though I know this will be good for both of us I can't help but feel a bit nervous at the idea.
None of the girls really know my situation right now, apart from Keira and probably Leah and Georgia due my girlfriends close friendship with them and the fact Georgia had kind of picked up what was going on at training, so me just turning up at camp with a 16 year old is surely going to turn some heads. It's As if Emily can read my thoughts when she asks a question
"Do you think people will be confused when I turn up with you, it's not like I was called up or anything" she say's clearly thinking out loud and letting her anxiety show
"maybe I could text in the group chat and let them know, so it won't be such a surprise" I suggest, not really knowing what else I could do
She stays quiet for a moment, clearly playing out the scenario in her head, then she meets my gaze again
"Yeah I guess so, at least they won't be so confused then" she replies with a shrug
I give her a small smile and reach for my phone again searching for the lioness group chat that had a few unopened messages from the last few days
I started typing, then stopped not really knowing how to explain who Emily was without going into detail
"What do you want me to say" I asked her, not wanting to overstep or share something she wasn't okay with
"Uhm, just say I'm a academy player and I'm coming to watch and learn from you" she laughs at the suggestion clearly taking the mick which earned a laugh from me
"If that's what you want" i reply smiling, and begin tryping again
The lionesses
Lucy
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know a player from the city youth academy will be joining us on camp to shadow me. Hope that's okay with everyone
Before I sent the message I let Emily read it and once I got her approval I sent it
I received a few messages back, most of the girls letting me know it was more than okay. Their kind reply's didn't surprise me, I was never worried about how they would react I just didn't want to blindside them.
Georgia's reply made me laugh though, she told me I'm getting too big for my boots, her banter earning a few laughy faces from the other girls, including me
I turned my phone off bringing my attention back to Emily, the smile on my face seemed to calm her visible nervousness
"It's all good" I smile at her and she lets out a sigh of relief
We sit and chat for a while, something so simple yet it feels like we haven't done it in a while
I suggest we bring narla for a walk as it's a lovely day in Manchester and I invite Keira along too.

This is so bad but I needed to write a filler chapter, the next one will be them going to camp.
