Tony had insisted the party would kick off at eight on Saturday night, but here Indigo was, at 8:30, still fussing over what to wear. She'd already dolled up herself and Nat, but now she stood in front of her closet, eyeing a short dress with a mix of anticipation and hesitation.
Indigo spent the entire day nestled in her bed, her phone practically an extension texting Bucky. They talked about anything and everything they could possibly think of. It never got boring, and Indigo loved it.
Now, standing in front of her dress, Indigo gazes down at the fabric with a mixture of anticipation and longing. She can't help but imagine how Bucky would react if he could see her in it. Would his eyes light up with admiration? Would a smile grace his lips as he admired her? The thought sends a flutter of excitement through her, mingled with a pang of longing for his presence. As she runs her fingers over the smooth material, she can almost picture him standing before her, his gaze filled with adoration.
"Indie, we've got to go. Tony's gonna be pissed at us for being late," Nat announces, barging into the room with a sense of urgency.
"Okay, okay, just give me a sec to slip into my dress and heels, and we'll be out the door," Indigo responds hastily, already moving to grab her outfit for the evening.
Indigo quickly slipped into the white dress and heels, her fingers deftly fastening the straps before she paused to admire her reflection in the mirror. With a satisfied smile, she snapped a quick picture and sent it to Bucky, a rush of excitement coursing through her as she imagined his reaction. Then, with a sense of anticipation, she made her way to the kitchen to join Nat.
"Okay hot stuff, you look gorgeous." Nat says watching Indigo walk in.
"Thanks, Nat," Indigo beams, a blush rising to her cheeks at the compliment. "But come on, you're the real stunner here. Steve won't know what hit him."
As Nat shoots her a concerned glance, Indigo senses that something's amiss.
"Or should I be saying Bruce? What's wrong Nat?" she queries, her voice laced with a mix of curiosity and apprehension.
"I don't know. Steve and I had a great time yesterday and we really hit it off... but Bruce is so sweet and caring. I don't know what to do." Nat says with a sigh.
Indigo moves closer to Nat, her hand gently resting on Nat's shoulder as she listens to her friend's problems.
"I think you should follow your heart, Nat," she advises, her voice soft yet resolute. "Whether it's Steve or Bruce, the most important thing is that you choose what feels right for you. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Just do what makes you happy."
"Thank you, Indigo." Nat's gratitude shines through her smile, a silent acknowledgment of their bond. With a shared understanding, they turn towards the elevator, Indigo's hand confidently pressing the button. As they wait for the doors to open, a sense of anticipation fills the air, mingled with the excitement of the night ahead.
