"I lived with him in Bucharest for six months," Indigo stated firmly, her voice carrying a mix of defiance and determination.

Steve and Sam stood before her, their expressions a blend of concern and suspicion. The tension in the abandoned warehouse was palpable, intensified by the recent confrontation between Steve and Bucky on the roof, followed by their unexpected plunge into the Berlin lake.

Steve had brought Bucky here, seeking answers and clarity amidst the chaos that had enveloped them. Now, they turned to Indigo, questioning her about her connection to Bucky, seeking to understand the depth of their relationship and the implications it held.

All she wanted to do was go into the other room with Bucky, but they wouldn't let her. They thought he was too dangerous to be alone with.

When they told her that, Indigo had let out a loud laugh. It wasn't a laugh of amusement or mockery, but one born from irony and frustration. She couldn't help but find the situation absurd.

"Hold on, when did you get in touch with him. And how?" Sam asks, his brow furrowing with concern. "Nat was with you the whole time in the hospital after the helicarrier."

Indigo looked down at her hands, a fleeting moment of hesitation crossing her features. She knew this part of the story wouldn't sit well with Sam or Steve, but she owed them the truth. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at Steve before answering.

"Um, he got a nurse to bring me a burner phone while I was in the hospital," Indigo admitted quietly, her voice tinged with guilt.

"I waited a couple months after the accident to get in touch with him," Indigo says, her voice tinged with a mix of defiance and regret.

"Unbelievable," Steve says, shaking his head slightly. His tone conveyed disappointment more than anger, a testament to his struggle to reconcile the situation with his principles.

"Steve, I am so sorry. I was just trying to protect him," Indigo pleaded, her voice tinged with remorse.

Steve's expression softened slightly, but sadness still lingered in his eyes. "Were you ever going to tell me?" he asked quietly, his tone betraying the hurt he felt.

Indigo looked down, her hands clasped tightly together. After a moment, she looked up again, meeting Steve's gaze with a mixture of vulnerability and determination. "When the time was right, maybe," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. She looks over to see Bucky's still unconscious body in the other room. Sam had clamped Bucky's left arm in a huge industrial vice, scared that when he awoke, he would still be Winter.

"And are you two... a couple?" Sam inquired.

Indigo glanced first at Steve, then at Sam, her expression confident. "Yes, we've been together for over a year," she stated proudly.
