2 Months Later...

Indigo moved with purpose, efficiently packing her belongings while Bucky sat on the bed, quietly observing her.

The previous night, Natasha had texted her with urgent news: the team was heading to Lagos. They had acquired a lead on Rumlow and needed Indigo's help on the mission.

Indigo had spent the entire night reassuring Bucky that she would be fine and that he didn't need to worry about her.

She zipped up her backpack and walked over to Bucky, who still had his eyes on her. She walked over to where he was sitting on the edge of the bed and stood in front of him. Before she could say anything, Bucky was sticking his head under her shirt nuzzling her breasts with his face. He had wrapped a hand around her waist pulling her closer to him.

Indigo let out a laugh as she peeked into the head of her shirt to see Bucky rest his forehead between the valley of her breasts.

"James, I have to go. The team needs me," Indigo said firmly, gently removing his head from under her shirt.

"Do you have to?" Bucky whined, looking up at her with a pout.

"That was the agreement. I take time off, but if they need me, I go right back," Indigo reassured him, placing a hand on his cheek. His sad look tugged at her heart.

"I will be right back here, James," she promised softly, leaning down to kiss his forehead.

"Okay, but take the burner in case you can't get back quickly. Also, be safe. I don't want you getting hurt, or I'll have to come and kick someone's ass," Bucky said, standing up from the bed.

Indigo nodded, a small smile playing on her lips as she grabbed her bag and walked over to the apartment door. Glancing down at her phone, she noted that a quinjet had landed to take her to the team.

She embraced Bucky, taking in the scent of his freshly washed hair. As reluctant as she felt to leave, she knew she had to. She cherished the cozy haven they had built together and wasn't prepared for it to be disrupted just yet.

Reluctantly pulling away, she pressed a gentle kiss on Bucky's lips and whispered, "I love you."

Bucky returned her affection with a somber gaze. "I love you. Please come back safely."

He grasped the door handle and swung it open, his gaze fixed on Indigo as she stepped out. Before she descended the stairs to join the team, she turned back, offering him a final reassuring glance.

Indigo navigated her motorcycle through the traffic, weaving between cars with practiced ease. The moment her boots hit the ground, the familiar chatter of her teammates flooded her comms, a comforting sound she had dearly missed.
