Indigo's POV ~

Indigo basks in the tender embrace of Bucky's arms, her senses overwhelmed by the lingering heat of their passion. As she lies beside him, her skin glistening with sweat, she savors the quiet intimacy of the moment. Yet, even in the aftermath of their lovemaking, her mind remains restless, a whirlwind of emotions cascading through her, each heartbeat a testament to the depth of her love for him.

Bucky's voice broke through the silence, wrenching Indigo from her thoughts, "I can't stay here."  he confessed, his words heavy with sadness, "I have to go back."

Indigo's heart sank at the inevitability of their separation, her gaze falling to the floor as she struggled to contain her emotions. "I understand," she replied softly, her voice tinged with sorrow. "Nat will be here in a couple of hours, and she can't find you."

"I don't want to go," Bucky murmured, his arms tightening around her as if trying to prolong their fleeting moment together.

Indigo's touch traced delicate patterns across his abdomen, eliciting a shiver from Bucky's skin. "And I don't want you to leave," she confessed softly, her voice barely above a whisper. Each stroke of her finger seemed to deepen the connection between them, a silent plea for him to stay a little longer.

"You have a scar on your stomach. How did you get it?" Bucky's fingers gently lifted her chin, his gaze searching hers as if seeking answers buried deep within her soul.

Indigo met his intense stare with a mixture of vulnerability and determination, "Mission gone wrong." she admitted, her voice carrying the weight of memories she wished she could forget.

Bucky's touch was firm yet tender as he guided her hand away, his movements deliberate as he shifted their positions. With a fluid motion, he rolled them over until Indigo was nestled beneath him, her back pressed against the soft surface beneath them.

As he settled himself above her, Bucky's gaze softened, his eyes locking with hers in a silent exchange of emotions. With a gentle caress, he draped a leg across her, anchoring her to him in an intimate embrace. His arm stretched out above her head, his hand finding purchase on the surface beside her as he leaned in closer, his eyes never leaving hers.

Indigo's breath caught in her throat as Bucky's finger traced the path of her scar, his touch sending shivers down her spine. She felt a mixture of vulnerability and anticipation wash over her, her gaze flickering between his face and the point where his finger trailed along her skin.

Despite her efforts to meet his gaze, she found herself captivated by the intensity with which Bucky studied her scar. His eyes were fixed on the faint mark, his expression unreadable as he traced its contours with a gentle touch.

"Who did this to you, doll?" Bucky's gaze lingered on the scar, his concern palpable as he asked,

"I told you James, a mission went wrong. Nat had to save me, she killed the man." Indigo met his gaze unwaveringly, her voice steady despite the memories flooding back.

As Bucky's finger traced the length of her scar, his gaze lifted to meet hers, his voice soft and sincere. "You're the most beautiful person I've ever laid eyes on," he whispered, his words carrying a depth of emotion that sent shivers down her spine.

Indigo's hand gently cupped Bucky's cheek, her touch tender as she leaned in closer, her lips meeting his in a soft, lingering kiss.

This kiss was brand new, something she had never experienced before when it came to James Barnes. His lips were soft, warm, against her own, they tenderly moved against her mouth as if she would break at any harsh movement. His fingers tangled in her hair as he pulled her body closer to him, drinking her in. The butterflies felt like a monsoon inside of her body now as she practically melted into him.

"Mmm," he hummed, pecking her lips once more before he pulled away slowly. "I love you, Indigo. I promise I will do my best to be everything for you. I will do my best to protect you and love you. I don't know how to explain how much I love you, but fuck Indigo, I'll try-"

Indigo sit up slowly, pushing Bucky's leg off of her, he quickly sits up next to her. She reaches over wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders as she shushed him with another soft peck on the lips. And another. And another. Each time she was absorbed into his transfixed stare, pulling her back in to press her lips against his once more. Like she couldn't get enough, like it was a dream she was afraid she was going to wake up from.

"I love you, James. More than words can express," Indigo whispers, her voice trembling with emotion as she pulls back slightly, locking eyes with Bucky's deep blue gaze. "But you have to go. You can't stay here, even though every part of me wishes you could."

Bucky shakes his head, nestling it against Indigo's chest, his embrace tightening around her. "I love you so much," he whispers, his warm breath grazing her skin. Feeling his words resonate within her, Indigo gently lifts his head, holding it still with tender hands as she gazes deeply into his eyes.

"I have the burner, I know where you are. I love you, but you have to leave," Indigo says firmly as she rises to her feet. With determined movements, she gathers Bucky's clothes and tosses them towards him. Slipping into her shirt, she turns to face him, her expression resolute. Despite her urgency, Bucky remains motionless, his gaze fixed on her with unwavering intensity.

"What if I stay? I'll find a place here, in New York. I'll stay hidden. Indie, baby, I can't leave you. I need you," Bucky pleads, his voice tinged with desperation.

"You can't stay here. You will get caught and they will throw you into the Raft." Indigo says walking over to him. "You have to leave. I will only be one phone call away James, please."

Finally, Bucky stands up, swiftly pulling his clothes on. Indigo gazes up into his blue eyes, her expression tinged with sadness. She didn't want him to leave; she yearned for him to stay with her forever, to hold her close, to kiss her passionately, to whisper those three precious words. Indigo wanted it all, but deep down, she knew he couldn't stay. She couldn't bear the thought of being the reason he got caught.

Indigo wrapped her arms around his waist, pulling him in tight. She buried her head into his chest, inhaling the familiar scent of leather and cologne. She felt his hands wrap around her shoulders, drawing her even closer to his body. In that moment, time seemed to stand still as they held each other, finding solace in the warmth of their embrace.

With a tender touch, Bucky withdrew first, his gaze lingering on Indigo with a depth that spoke volumes. Softly, his lips brushed against hers in a gentle kiss, a silent promise exchanged in the quiet of the moment.

As he made his way towards the door, Bucky's words echoed in the room, each syllable laden with sincerity and love. "Indigo Evergreen, you are my happy ending," he declared, his voice a whisper that resonated in the space between them.

Indigo met his gaze, her own eyes shimmering with unshed tears, yet filled with an unwavering resolve. "James Barnes, you are my happy ending," she affirmed, her voice a whispered echo of their shared devotion.

As the door clicked shut behind him, Indigo stood there, her heart heavy with the weight of their parting. She closed her eyes, willing herself to hold back the tears that threatened to spill over, determined not to let her emotions overwhelm her.

In the silence that followed, she could still feel the imprint of his touch on her skin, the memory of his presence lingering in the air like a bittersweet melody. Despite the ache in her chest, Indigo knew that this was not goodbye. It was merely a temporary separation, a pause in their journey together.

With a deep breath, she steeled herself against the sorrow that threatened to engulf her, reminding herself that their love was stronger than any distance that might separate them. As she opened her eyes once more, a sense of quiet determination settled over her, a silent promise to herself that she would see him again, no matter what it took.
