As soon as Nat and Indigo step onto the quinjet, Nat heads towards Bruce while Indigo settles on the ground beside Tony, who occupies the pilot's seat. As she takes her seat, Tony's concerned gaze meets hers, and he gestures towards a small towel resting on the arm of his chair. With a subtle movement of his hand, he indicates that she has something on her face, prompting her to take the towel and wipe it away.
Indigo takes the towel from Tony, puzzled by his gesture. As she uses it to wipe her face, she doesn't immediately understand why he offered it. However, when she brings the towel down to examine it, she sees that it's stained with blood. The realization hits her like a punch to the gut, and she feels a wave of nausea wash over her as she stares at the crimson smudges on the fabric.
"Nat did say you kind of lost your mind out there, Willow. What's going on?" Tony's voice carries a mix of concern and curiosity as he turns his attention back to the controls of the quinjet. Feeling the aircraft begin to lift off, Indigo instinctively reaches out to grab onto Tony's seat, anchoring herself as they ascend into the sky.
"I didn't lose my mind, Tony. I just got lost in the heat of the moment," Indigo responds, her voice tinged with a hint of defensiveness.
Tony's concern doesn't wane as he turns his gaze back to her, his brow furrowing with worry. "You can't lie to me. I can see it in your face something's wrong," he insists, his tone gentle yet firm. "What happened on your mission to Bucharest? Did someone hurt you?"
Indigo's mind echoes with the painful truth: someone broke her heart.
"No, I told you I didn't find anything in Bucharest," she replies, her voice carrying a hint of frustration. "I'm just tired of people asking me what's wrong. Constantly. Can't I just be a little sad sometimes? Jeez."
Tony's tone softens as he continues, "Look, kid. As your genius big brother," he says with a wink, "I know something is up. It's fine if you don't want to talk to me, but you need to find someone to talk to fast before you decide to go ballistic on a Hydra soldier again."
Indigo meets Tony's gaze, her eyes reflecting a mixture of sadness and gratitude.
"Yea, Nat told me about it. I'm kinda sad I missed it honestly. But really, Willow, please talk to someone," Tony says with a small smile. "Welp, I've gotta go talk to these hoodrats about this scepter. You just gonna stay here?"
"I think I'm gonna stay put," she says.
"Good call, 'cause you stink like a dead penny," Tony teases with a laugh as he strides towards Steve and Thor.
As she closed her eyes, trying to escape the relentless memories that plagued her, she found herself drowning in a sea of longing and regret. Bucky was her drug, a dangerous addiction that consumed her from the inside out. But he didn't want her, couldn't accept her love, leaving her stranded in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He pushed her away, yet still reached out to her, leaving her tangled in a web of confusion and heartache.
