We were looking for them for hours, Titan could smell a fait trace of her but it had rained since Titan ran away and had a nap, ‘where is she?’ Titan roared, 'I don’t know, I can’t seem to link with her, they might be to far away’, then in the silent air we both heard a high-pitched whine, ‘that’s her’ he panicked as he ran faster, he howled as loud as he could, we heard a weak howl back, ‘she's around here somewhere’ Titan said searching.

‘Huxley, Titan, is that you?’ it’s was River, the link finally connected ‘yes River it’s me, Huxley, where are you?’ ‘I don’t know, we were tried to get back to the pack house, but we fell down a hill, Opal has hurt her leg and can’t move’ ‘let out some more of your pheromones so Titan can find you’ ‘no’ a little voice said ‘come on Opal’ ‘no, I don’t want him to come close to me’ ‘please, Opal, they have come to save us’ ‘I don’t need his help, tell him to go away’ Opal cried.

We left them to talking as we followed the faint scent that Titan could smell, she was trying to calm Opal down, the guilt was building up in him.

Titan finally found them down the bottom of a really high slope, he slowly and carefully made it down, it’s was really slippery, Titan lost his footing a few times but we know these woods like the back of our hand, ‘NO, stay away from me’ Opal cried and she tried to move, making her cry in pain, Titan stopped and lowered his head.

‘Opal, I'm sorry for what I said to you earlier, I was jealous, I was expecting a Lycan just like River but, you, you are nothing like her’ ‘Titan, what you’re saying, isn’t going to help her forgive you’ ‘I know that Huxley, I just want Opal to know why I said it, but when I left you, I instantly regret it, at the time my head was telling me that I was doing the right thing but my heart hurt, when I think of what I said to you, it feels like my heart gets squeezed tighter with every word, I dreamt about you last night, I actually dream about you every night but last night was the first time it was the real you, I can’t get the pups we had out my head, I'm deeply sorry for what I have done, please forgive me enough for me to come closer to help you’.

There was no reply, ‘look Opal, Titan looks really sorry for what he said, do you think you could forgive him?’ River said, ‘I know Titan is big and scary and he also says stupid things but he is just a big puppy dog’ she still didn’t say anything, she was still scared of him? I wouldn't blame her if she was.

Titan laid down in front of Opal, waiting for her answer to help her, River kept talking to her, but she still stayed silent.

I don’t know how long there was silents, but it did start to rain, heavily, Opal was covered by a tree, Titan and I were out in the rain getting soaked, Opal was getting concerned that we were getting wet, whispering to River to tell her, to tell us to move, me knowing Titan, he wouldn’t move unless Opal asked him herself.

‘Tell him to move, he's getting wet, River tell him’ ‘I've told him but he won't move’ ‘tell him again’ ‘Opal, Titan is a very stubborn Lycan, he won't move until you tell him to’ I said, Titan growling his approval, there was another stalemate, then there was a small voice that said ‘Titan, please move out of the rain’ he got up, shook off some of the rain that had settled on him and joined Opal under the tree, he laid close to her but not close enough that they touched ‘I'm not sure she meant move here’ I laughed.

They laid next to each other in silence, only River and I spoke, Opal surprised as all when she rolled to the side a little and rested her head on Titan’s paw, Titan laid his head on top of hers, ‘that's so cute’ River swooned, I was happy for Titan he has gone through some shit, we both fell off the deep end when we lost Nisa and our unborn pup, for the past five years he was out and I only took over to sleep but when she arrived, it awoken something in us that we thought had died with Nisa.

They laid like that until morning broke, Opal was shivering ‘you cold?’ I asked ‘yeah, a little bit, where we don't shift too often, Opal’s winter coat don't come in so we only have a summer coat’ ‘you should have said, I will keep you warm’ Titan said moving closer to Opal, ‘how about you help her get to the pack house, shift back so I can see what's hurts and figure out a way of getting her home’.

Titan was reluctant to shift back but he did “hello Opal, I can see what hurts?” She closed her eyes and bowed her head, I was confused at first ‘your naked’ Titan said “sorry Opal but I have no clothes, I know being in this form we cannot talk, I know that one of your legs are hurt can you show me what one?” She whined as she laid onto her side her back right leg was scratched up bad but her back left leg was completely broken.

“Ok Opal, I just need to touch your leg to feel how broken it is, I will be as gentle as I can” I gently put my hand on her leg, however, you can clearly see it's broken, she let out a high-pitched whine ‘stop, you’re hurting her’ Titan shouted in my head, “I'm sorry, I'm really sorry” ‘Titan, I think her whole back leg is broken, in at least two places, getting her back is going to be trouble, she won't be able to walk on it, if it was a front one then we could have tied it up somehow but it being her back one and being broken like it is, we can't get her up the hill, it’s too steep and it’s too wet, we have to go the long way around, down by the Alt river, we will need to carry her, she will be able to fit on your back’ ‘can she not shift?’ ‘No, not with her leg being that broken, it will cause her much, much, more pain, we need to get her back to the pack house, then to Dr Shelley, she can help her’.

“Ok Opal, I'm going to shift back, I know this is going to hurt but this is our only option, you need to get on Titans back, he will carry you back to the pack house so you can get help that you need’ she didn't move, she still hadn't opened her eyes yet, I stepped away and shifted, ‘Opal, he didn't hurt you too bad, did he?’ ‘It's ok, come closer so I can try and get on your back’ ‘do you want to wait till its stopped raining?’ ‘Titan, look at her, she's still bleeding, her fur is stained red’ ‘ok Opal, I'm going to lay in front of you, try to crawl onto my back’ he couldn’t bring himself to look again.
