For the next few weeks, that’s all River talked about was the farm, I started to understand some of the things she was talking about, she went on some outings with Brax to source out some animals, also for feed, hay and some other bits like fences, tackle, I didn’t know what that was so I asked my translator, he told me it was for the horses so you could ride them, I gave her my card and said to get what you need.

When they finally got back in the evening, they had spent over 150,000, “so what did you buy on your shopping trip" I asked as we sat down for dinner, I had waited till she got home to eat, “you’re not going to be mad at me?” “No, why should I?” “Because I spent a lot of money” “I told you to buy what you needed, I didn’t care if you had spent a million, so what did you buy?”  I asked again, “well, we went to this one guy, he said he would have 15 cows’ ready for us in time for when the work on the barn is ready, we hit the jack pot with him, as he told us about one of his friends selling off some of his machines cheap, he sold us his milking machine dirt cheap, he is still using it until the 20th, he's arranged it to be dismantled, moved and put back together here, we went to see this other man but he was a dickhead so we didn’t do buy anything from, then from this other farmer we got 7 pigs and 26 chickens” she spoke with so much excitement in her voice, it made me happy, “no sheep?” “No, not yet, that’s tomorrow we are going to see someone” “so you’re going out again tomorrow?” “Yeah, I told you” “you told me about today, not tomorrow” “yeah, I did” “when?” “Just now” “I'm starting to feel a little neglected” “oh don’t say that, it makes me sad, I just want this to be perfect, I've spent a lot of your money and I want you to think Brax and I did a good job on it” “with you and Brax running the place I bet if will be fantastic, just please remember that I'm your mate and not just a bank card” “Huxley don’t say sad things like that, when the farm gets up and running, we will pay you back with interest, in eggs” she laughed as I choked on my food.

It took three months to complete and it was up and running, Brax and River got all the animal’s they wanted, the only delay was the horses, the trainer was sick so she couldn’t bring the horses when they were meant to be here, I had gone down for my official visit, River wanted to show me everything, down to the baby chicks that had just hatched.

I slumped back on my chair, from the packhouse to the farm is so far, there was a knock at the door, “come in” I shouted, “sorry Alpha Huxley but you have a visitor, he had come while you were down at the farm” “I'm not expecting anyone today, did he say what pack he was from?” “No, he didn’t, sorry, I should have asked” “its fine, show him in” “the children to?” “Children? Sure”.

The door opened and there stood Koza, my brother that I haven’t seen in 15 years, he was holding a very small pup and two other pups standing next to him, “Koza, what?” I didn’t know what to say, “hello little brother, longtime no see, how have you been?” I just sat there staring at him, “you not going to greet me Huxley? I would like to introduce you to my pups”.

I got up off my chair and went over to him, I hugged him tight without squishing the little pup in the middle, “its so nice to see you again, you look old” I laughed, “and you look exactly the same, let me introduces you to my pups, this one here is my oldest Asha” “oh you named him after our father?” “Yeah, even though I wasn’t a part of this pack, I still wanted to follow out traditions”, the tradition was the first born was named after their father, our grandfather was called Koza Gideon Knight, that’s where Koza got his name from, “he is 15, Justyna was with pup when we left the pack, this little one here is Reed, he is five and the one in my arms is Harvi, he is only 6 months old” “and your mate Justyna? She here to?” “No, she isn’t, that thing killed her” Asha said pointing to the pup in Koza’s arms, “I've told you not to call him that thing, Justyna died in child birth, Asha, please don’t hold any hatred against your little brother, even though Alpha Huxley and I do not share the same mother but she was my mother the moment she mated without father, I loved her more then my own mother, I do not blame Alpha Huxley for it, it wasn't his fault, how he is the True Alpha of the pack” “a lot has changed in the 15 years that you have been gone, take a seat so we can talk”.

“Oh wow, so you are a feral and found a mate while being a feral, I have missed a lot” “Huxley, the trainer called… Oh sorry, I didn’t know that you had a meeting today” River said then went to leave “River, wait, please come here, this is my brother Koza and his pups, Koza, this is my mate River, we have just started up a farm, River these are Koza’s pups, Asha… Reed and… Henry, no, sorry” “Harvi” Koza corrected me “it’s very nice to meet you, wow you both look alike each other, even your boy’s look like you both” “hang on, a farm did you say? I would have never thought that my brother, True Alpha Huxley, being a farmer” “you are my brother, there is no need for the formal name, just called me Huxley, I'm not the farmer, my beautiful mate is the farmer, I'm just the bank at the moment” “I told you not to say that, I told you I will pay you back in eggs” she laughed as did Koza “a beauty she is, she looks young” “she is 18, her birthday is in a few weeks, you cant say much, how old were you and Justyna?” Koza didn’t say anything, he just smiled, “yeah, just as I thought, River, what didn’t the trainer say?” “Oh yeah, she said that she feels well enough and she will bring the horse’s tomorrow” “horses?” Asha said.

“Yeah, do you like horses?” Asha didn’t reply to River, he looked shy and looked away, “yeah, he does, he helped looking after the horses back in our old pack” “old pack?” I quizzed, “erm, yeah, I was wondering if I could return to this pack with my pups?” “I am the True Alpha, I will not relinquish it to you” “that’s not why I have come here, to take over, I don’t want the title, I never really did if I'm honest, I always wanted to live a quiet life with my pups, the old pack got a new True Alpha, he is young and only wants young Alpha’s and Omegas, he wanted me out because I was old, but he wanted my pups, he said that I could stay until Asha was 18, so he can take guardianship of my other two pups, Asha is an Alpha, so we left, I know our father died a while ago, I was planning to come back years ago but the old True Alpha needed me, his heath was in bad shape, I'm a Doctor you see” “a Doctor? Wow that’s amazing, we don’t have a doctor in the pack, there is one in town but she doesn’t like me very much, I told you about Nisa, well Doctor Shelley was Nisa’s sister, she blamed me for her sister’s death, she knows the truth now but I suppose she has hated me for so long, its hard to break, you defiantly can come back to this pack as our official Doctor if that’s ok?” “Yeah, if it will help you” “the only thing is, the main pack house hasn’t much room in there for all the space you need” “its totally fine being in the second house, does your pack have a school?” “Not as of yet, but we do have someone training to become a teacher, Pasha’s mate Atlas, they are currently trying for a pup” “would you like me to take the pups to the farm so you both can catch up properly?” River said “that would be great, only if its ok with you Koza?” “Fine with me”.
