Titan opened the door and scanned the room, all the Lycan’s were screaming at the sight of Titan, standing in the doorway, ‘Huxley, where is she? She isn’t in here’ Titan looked again and again that the Lycan’s in the room.

Titan hunted the whole house for her but he couldn't find her anywhere.

Titan headed out the same way he entered the house, Craze and Zero were getting back to their feet, ‘where is she? Did River come out this way?’ ‘Huxley, River is dead, you know that’ Koza said in his kind doctor voice, ‘no she’s not, she just linked with me, she just spoke to me’ ‘no she never, it’s all in your head, please come home with us, Okami needs you more than ever’ ‘when I find River, I will come back with her’ then Titan bolted towards the woods.

Titan and I hunted the woods for River or Opal, trying to pick up their scent but we found nothing, we looked in so many places, any wooded area we came across, we looked in, any Lycan we found we asked if they had seen her, but no one did, I told them if they see her to tell her to please come home, the last lot of Lycan’s I came across, they didn’t like that I was on their land, I tried to tell them I was looking for someone but they were adamant I was there to take over there pack, there was a huge fight, it was 6v1, Titan put them down but it was a close fight, Titan was hurt pretty bad, he needed time to heal.

Titan found a fallen tree to hid under to keep out of sight and out of the rain while he healed, the only noise we could hear was the rain, splashing on the leaves around us, that let Titan relax enough to sleep.

‘Huxley, you need to go home’ ‘River? Where are you? We have been looking everywhere for you’ ‘I’m dead Huxley’ ‘that’s not true, you are talking to me’ ‘this isn’t real, I'm not really here, this is all in your head, your subconscious is talking to you’ ‘no, it’s not’ I didn’t want to believe it, ‘Huxley, you need to go home, our pup is waiting for you’ ‘I don’t believe you, please come out from where you are hiding, I miss you’ ‘do you think if this was real, I would be all the way out here, in the middle of fucking nowhere away from our pup? No, I would be at home with him, he needs you Huxley, more than ever, please go home’ ‘but I need you, I can’t function in human form without you, I thought we would have had longer together, you said you wanted a big family? I was excited of having lots of little pups running around, please come back to me’ ‘I’m sorry, but I have to go now’ ‘no not yet, please, just a little longer’ ‘I’m sorry, please go home and look after our pup, I love you, always’ her voice seemed distant, ‘please don’t leave me’ I cried out, ‘please River, come back to me I love you’ but she never answered, I started screaming, making Titan whine and howl, he didn’t care if any Lycan’s heard him, we were both in pain, both physically and mentally we were broken.

Titan and I cried for days, we didn’t move, we didn’t eat, drink or go searching for her, on the fourth day Titan finally said ‘what are we going to do Huxley? Shall we go home?’ I didn’t want to answer him, I knew if I did, that would mean that River was dead and gone, Titan knew what the answer should be, he got up and headed south, Titan didn’t know where we were, he knew we were really far up north where it was cold.

It Took Titan eight days before we found the Ault River, for some reason, this river always smelled like roses, another full day of walking with the river, he finally found the pack house.

I found someone's stash of clothes, they smelt like Koza’s, I shifted and I put the joggers on, the top was way too small, I think in wolf form I've bulked up a little with all the running.

I stood in the tree line for a little bit, I could see Pasha standing over the four pups with Asha and Robin sat playing with them, Atlas came out the house with some bottles and snacks, from here I could tell that Atlas was pregnant, she looked like she was ready to drop, tears pricked my eyes, this is something I wanted with River, now it would never happen, Atlas passed the bottles to Asha and Robin who fed the pups.

I took a few calming deep breaths, then I stepped out the woods.
