Chapter 69

                            Huxley.

I was talking to McArther when I heard River call me over, I told her that I would be there in a second, I just wanted to finish what I was saying to him, he was asking me for tips on starting a little farm to sustain them.

BANG.

We all heard a gun stot and turned around to see Maxine, pointing a gun at River, she had her back to Maxine, looking down at Okami, when she looked and saw me, she smiled and fell to her knees, all of a sudden there was screaming coming from all around, ‘what’s going on?’ Titan panicked.

I walked closer to River, she was now lying on the floor, Okami missing out of her arms, River’s eyes were closed, ‘Huxley, why is River sleeping on the floor?’ Titan now confused, I didn't know what to say, why is she lying on the floor?

“What have I done?” I looked over at her, the gun trembling in her hands, Alpha Leo went for the gun but Maxine put the gun under her chin and pulled the trigger, BANG, the gun fell to the floor as did Maxine.

Nothing felt real, it felt like I was in a movie and everything was happening around me.

“River, get up off the floor, you will catch a cold”, Pasha, who was sat next to her, he looked up at me in floods of tears, “no, no, don’t say it, don’t you fucking dare say it, she can’t be” I said dropping to my knees, I crawled towards her and took her hand, it was still warm, she cannot be dead.

“River, River, wake up, you can’t leave me, what about the big family that you wanted? One pup isn’t a big family, so wake up” “sorry Huxley but she’s gone” Koza said putting his hand on my shoulder, “no she’s not, River, wake up, everyone is watching” “Huxley” “no, Koza, she not fucking dead, you're a fucking doctor, bring her back, Dr Shelley, please bring her back” “sorry Huxley, there was nothing that we could do, she bled out to fast” I couldn’t take my eyes off River, she just looked like she was fast asleep.

My whole body started to fill with rage, I stood up and looked over where Maxine was lying, where she took her own life, Alpha Leo was stunned to the spot, not knowing to go to Maxine’s side or River’s, “you let her bring a gun in to my pack?” I didn’t let him answer, I charged for him, I was going to rip him apart, I could hear someone shouting me to stop but there was no stopping me, there was nothing anyone could say to make me stop.

I hit him so hard, he fell back onto his arse, I got on top of him and I hit him again and again and again, I couldn’t stop, all I could feel was red hot rage, I just kept hitting.

Five Lycan’s had to pull me off him, “get the fuck off me, I'm going to kill the prick and his whole pack, I'm going to kill them all” I shouted as Titan pleaded to come out so he could rip his head off his shoulders “I think he is already dead” Koza said, checking for a pulse, “good, next, the pack” “Huxley, your mate has just died and all you can think about is killing” “I’M GOING TO BURN THE WORLD TO THE GROUND” I shouted as I shifted, hurting two of the Lycan’s that were holding me, I bolted towards the woods, I didn’t know the way to that pack house, I knew the general direction, the only time I went to the pack, we drove, I've got a goal in mind, I’m going to kill that whole pack for what she did, I will find the pack house, mark my words.

It took me hours to find a scent that I recognised, it was Alpha Leo’s, it was faint but, it was enough that I could follow.

I was shocked to see Craze and Zero, guarding the door of Alpha Leo’s house, Craze was Pasha’s wolf and Zero was Koza’s, ‘Huxley, stop this’ Koza said as he linked with me, I could hear Lycan’s crying in the house that they were guarding, ‘move, do you two really think you can take me on and win?’ ‘Come on, Okami is waiting for you to go home, he wants his Daddy’ Pasha tried to pull at my heart strings, they broke with my heart, ‘do you really think I'm in any fit state to look after a pup? I’m going into that house and kill every single Lycan in there, so, if you don’t want to get caught in the middle, MOVE’ I shouted and Titan moved closer to them.

Zero stepped forward to, ‘please Huxley, you don’t need to do this, you already killed the Alpha of the pack, these Lycan’s did do anything’ ‘River wouldn’t want this and you know it’ Pasha added, her name, stopped me in my tracks, from killing Alpha Leo to now, I never thought about River or Okami, I'm was just consumed with pure rage.

A picture of River’s body, lying motionless on the floor, flooded my head, Titan whined in sorrow, ‘she was my world and it was just ripped away from me... I’m going to take everything from this pack’ Titan ran head first into Zero.

They both attacked me at the same time, that’s the only way that they could do to try to take me down, it wasn’t a fair fight, 2v1 but my wolf form probably was the same size as them together, yeah, they were Alpha’s also but I’m a True Alpha, I'm bigger, I've been working out every morning, now that River and I have started our family, I needed to know that I could protect them.

Fighting them was easy, they laid on the floor, defeated.

Titan walked up the steps to the house, the door was locked, no surprise there, Titan, smashed through the living room window, scratching his paws in the proses, he didn’t care, he was on the same page as me, he wanted everyone to pay for what happened to River.

We found them in the room that River and I stayed in when we were here, I could hear crying from behind the door, they were scared, good, I want to see their petrified faces, I knew that there wasn't a lock on this door, I can get to them so easy, they were mere seconds away from dying when I heard, ‘Huxley, don’t do this’ ‘River? Is that you? Where are you?’
