The Feral Mate

Chapter 30

Most of the Lycan’s were in the hall now, some looked over at me and were whispering, I know it was about me but I didn’t care, I was used to it when I was with Nisa, the pack talking behind my back, I went to the front of the hall “everyone, sorry to disturb you from your meal but I would like to say a few things” I waited until everyone was looking at me, “ok first of all, River is now officially my mate” most of the Lycans cheered, Petra didn’t, she just looked at me pissed off, “where is she?” I heard.

I took in a deep breath, “we went out for a run…” I told them everything that happened, I probably shouldn’t have but I didn’t want to not say and it comes out, they looked shocked “I wanted to tell you all the truth, there is one thing that I hate is lying and liars” I glanced over at Eve, “I want this pack to be truthful, liars will be punished, I will keep you all updated on Opal and River’s progress, I want to be transparent and a True Alpha that you could come to for help, I'm not perfect by any means, if you need help, I will do everything in my power to help but lying is a deal breaker, that’s all, enjoy your dinner” some were still shocked, it could be that they haven’t heard me talk yet, Atlas seemed happy with what I said.

I got the chef to send my food up, I was so tired, I was worried that I might fall asleep in my food.

I walked towards the door, I made sure that I passed Eve on my way, I leant down and whispered, “sorry I've taken your mate away from you” “that’s ok Alpha Huxley” “also, congratulations on the news of your pup” “th... th… thanks, Pasha told you?” she stuttered, “he did, if there is anything you need while he is with my mate, don’t hesitate to ask me” “o… o… ok” she stuttered again, ‘thanks’ Atlas said, I hadn’t broke the link between us, I did as I left the dining hall.

I hardly ate anything, I was starving but I didn’t feel like eating, I was tired but I couldn’t sleep, I was restless, I couldn’t turn my brain off, I couldn’t stop thinking of what Titan had done and I was powerless to do anything, Titan had more power over me, I should have been able to force Titan to shift back, human form has more power over wolf form, they should obey there human but Titan didn’t, was it because I'm still feral? I didn’t like the feeling of being powerless over Titan, I will need to talk to him about it, he won’t like it but this situation will never happen again.

A few days passed, Pasha kept me updated through Atlas about Opal and River, her leg was operated on the night she got there, the healing will be a long process, I was surprised that Pasha let me know anything, Opal and River can’t tell him to do it unless she shifts and I know for certain that DR Shelley did tell him, I bet he is still mad for what happened and I bet DR Shelley has told them by now what she knows about me and what she thinks happened with Nisa.

Atlas as temporally come into my office to help me, Pasha had started help me a lot, she's been talking to the pack to see if there is any issues, so far, I've only seen Petra and Brax, Petra said about a second pack house, I told her that its being started in the morning, she also requested a gym, I excepted, health and fitness is important, Brax requested a farm, a few cows for milk and chickens for eggs, I told him yes but I wanted the second pack house built first, I also wanted to wait till Pasha came back, he is brilliant at planning things out to where they should go to utilize the space.

The pack is on many acres of land, it could fit five farms on, with space between them, I've been the True Alpha for nearly 10 years, having a farm never even crossed my mind, it’s a good income and it would cost less of food, I was really getting into it as Brax and I spoke about it, I remember River talking about having a farm in her old pack, I should ask her or Pasha about it, Eve avoided me like I was highly infectious.

The text Atlas and I were waiting for finally came through, Pasha was on his way back with Opal and River, they should arrive back around three, I'm not sure who is more excited that they are coming home? Atlas, Titan or myself.

Titan told me that I had to stop being the True Alpha until Opal was fully healed, that wasn’t going to happen, he wasn’t happy but there was other Lycans that could help me with looking after her, he threatened to shift without permission, that was a fun argument to have with a Lycan that has more power that its human.

Atlas and I were standing on the porch, waiting, she was pouncing with excitement, “stop moving, your making me feel sea sick” “sorry Huxley, I'm just excited” “how dare you call our Alpha just by his given name” Eve shouted as she kicked Atlas down the step, Atlas was mid bounce so she couldn’t stop herself form falling down the steps, onto the floor, “Atlas has permission to call me just by my name, violence will not be tolerated, nor does lying” “Victor didn’t care about a little tough love” “Victor also liked to force young Lycans to have sex with him”.

I moved closer to her and whispered so Atlas couldn’t hear me, “I know you are lying about being with pup, I know everything” I left her stood there shocked as I quickly went down the steps to help up, “what's going on here?” Pasha said as he closed the van door, I was so wrapped up in unsettling Eve, I didn’t even notice the van pull up.

“Eve kicked her down the steps” “what? Why?” “She called Alpha Huxley just by his name, its disrespectful to the Alpha” “she most likely has permission to call him it, River and I also can call him Huxley”, Eve didn’t look happy that she couldn’t call me just by my name, “Pasha, come with me” she demanded, “no, I need to get Opal to her room and settled” “no, what about me and the…” I turned to look at her before she could finish the sentence, “I will find you later, Opal needs my help more, you can’t help me, not in your condition” “condition?” I repeated, “Eve is with pup, I told you in the van” “oh yeah, that’s right, Eve is with pup” “fine, find me straight after” she said as she stormed off.

Pasha went to Atlas to see if she was ok, “by the sounds of it, this happens a lot, Pasha, keep you mate in check, I will not tolerate it” “sorry, I will talk to her, please come and help me get Opal out of the van” “how is she? It’s been hard not being able to help her” “yeah, she’s healing really well, she hasn’t shifted yet, DR Shelley did say that’s its safe for her to shift but I think she's still a little afraid that it’s going to hurt a lot” “did she tell you about my past?” I know she told them, she hates me that much, she would want to ruin my relationship with River, “yeah, she did, she really doesn’t like you, after I calmed down when I got to the office, I tried to put myself in to your shoes, being a feral, I wanted to be mad at you, disappointed, yes, mad, no, yeah, you did leave her in the woods alone and she got badly hurt, but you went back for her, you waited with Opal to be comfortable around you again, not forcing her to move, you got her back as safely as you could, if she was my mate, this would of never of happened, but alas, she chose a feral True Alpha” Pasha said as he opened the back of the van, he must have shifted to hear all that from Opal or River, I didn’t tell him about waiting for Opal and not forcing her to move.
