The Majestic Fourteen

“Lilly, come on darling,” Diego whispered, the two of them holding bags of the things they wanted the most.

Lillith had written all of the others extremely long letters explaining her decision and how they would be able  to contact her, but as the first two of the eight members of the Academy to leave– Lillith and Diego were extremely worried.

Would Hargreeves find them again and just bring them back?

They were sick and tired of that house and just had to leave, they couldn't handle it any more.

So there they were, climbing out of the window, lowering each other down onto the ground before running as fast as they could away from the house.

They had managed to scrounge up enough money– taking it from Hargreeves and some money they had from odd jobs being able to afford an apartment together.

They didn't go to highschool, so didn't have any jobs lined up other than a few odd jobs they had managed to find to be able to keep them on their feet.

Lillith and Diego walked hand in hand to the local bus station to get to their apartment and they just felt relief.

The week leading up to this moment every time they saw anyone else in the Academy they felt overwhelming guilt but they were so glad they managed to escape. They were free and they didn't want to turn back.

Diego was more than happy not to talk to the other people in the Academy but that was something Lillith immediately disagreed with. She hated change so even leaving the house was a lot for her– but also leaving the rest of her family was too much, she physically couldn't not ever talk to them again.

But obviously things change.

People change.

And their plan to live together and love each other forever changed too. Their lives together came to a close quicker than anyone had expected.

Lillith was extremely angry to realise that they had found other members of the Academy without inviting her. And then not only that, but they had left Luther and Vanya alone.

“So, what, you just let her go?” Diego asked– shirtless.

Not that it mattered or anything.

“Well, Vanya had a lot to process,” Five told them, sighing. “She’ll come around. I know she will.”

Lillith was trying to focus on Diego’s wound on his side, Lila helping apply pressure.

“What about the guys that went after her?”

“The Swedes?”

Lillith tried not to laugh, “Sorry but that’s ridiculous. It’s like when a murderer waits for their given name by the police or news reporters and it's like Bob or something.”

“I mean, how do you know they won't go after her again?” Diego asked, smiling at Lillith’s joke.

“We don't,” Five replied.

“Great plan, guys, really great,” Mila mumbled.

Lila took a sip out of her mug, “Mm, any idea who sent them.”

Five turned back to look at her, “Oh, I have my suspicions. But right now our priority is finding Dad and getting answers, ‘cause everything else depends on it.”
