The Undesirable View of Those You Love

AN: A lot shorter because I want to get into the actual plot I am also very sorry for the amount if time it's taken to release this- exams are killing me

Lea absolutely hated this new life.

She was cold all the time and that left her just feeling empty.

Obviously her powers were missing but it felt like she was missing a limb instead.

And it really didn't help when Five seemed so happy like he was finally free without them.

Especially when it hit winter and she had to put an extra coat on top of her amazing looking outfit which completely ruined how nice it looked- she had never been more upset in her life.

Two months into living with Diego and Lillith they both had managed to get enough money to rent a small flat a few blocks away.

Lea worked all throughout the week at a restaurant because she really didn't know what else to do with her lack of qualifications and honestly she didn't even know Five’s actual job, the name confused her every time.

But they were both so happy and absolutely nothing could change how good their life was.

“Five. Five. Five. Five,” Lea nagged as they were laying in bed together, Lea with her back to Five’s chest while he was reading a book.

“What’s wrong darling?” He asked her, his voice still managing to make her have to control herself from giggling.

“We need a pet.”

“I’m not getting a pet.”

“But just think about our little kitten called Simba.”

“We’re not having a cat called Simba.”

They in fact did get a cat called Simba.

The next day they went to an animal shelter and Lea ran towards this one Golden British Shorthair kitten who almost immediately took a liking to her.

And the second that Lea, holding a small kitten in her face, having the largest smile on her face looked up Five he knew he would have gotten her all the cats she ever asked for and soon Simba the kitten was introduced into the Hargreeves-Flores household.

And then began the complaints about not being able to have kitten adoption leave.

“I just don't get it Five. Babies are dumb why do men get two whole weeks of paternity leave and women get thirty nine weeks but I’m not allowed one day with my baby.”

“Simba is not a baby Lena.”

“She’s a baby to me, Five. She’s our child now and you better treat her like that.”

Although he vowed not to like or even care about any pet they would get, there was one night that Lea woke up from a nightmare in the middle of the night from her time in the Commission and she went downstairs to try and find Five.

And on that night he was sitting on the sofa with the cat on his lap and he looked even more comfortable than he did when it was Lea instead.

Let’s just say there were a lot of photos she had taken and sent straight away to the group chat with Allison and Lillith in it.

Lea for the past two months had been extremely into reading, constantly buying a new book and reading it almost instantly.
