The Reject Children of the Most Powerful Man
Lillith had no idea what was happening.
The last thing she remembered was the van spinning and clutching onto Diego’s hand like it was the last thing she was ever going to do and thinking her children were going to be raised without parents.
She made sure when she woke that everyone was okay and no one was too severely injured.
“Leave it to this clown car of a family to botch a simple search and rescue,” Ben grumbled glaring at everyone other than Lillith.
“For a second there, we had her,” Luther chose to mention.
Viktor leant back on the van, “Who were those weirdos with the fanny packs?”
“All I know is that they smelt of wet sheep,” Lillith grumbled, hating even the thought of those two.
Even kidnapping was a little bit extreme but it's when they didn't care about any collateral damage that they caused by hitting a van full of people.
She hated both of the weird blurs she saw.
“Who cares what they smell of, why did they call Mila Clementine?” Diego asked.
“They what?” Lillith asked, quickly turning to the smaller girl next to her.
Then something which confused her even more was that Five and Mila turned to look at each other, their eyes widened.
Since when could they be in proximity and not kill people.
“Their names are Gene and Jean,” Five started, which caused Lillith to question why on earth someone would marry someone with a homophone name to them. “They run an underground organisation called the Keepers.”
“A sex cult?” Diego asked, genuinely convinced he was correct.
“No that was Destiny’s Children,” Lillith corrected him.
“Once you get to the top, it’s always a sex cult.”
Luther nodded, “Yeah, the man’s got a point.
“Speaking from experience?” Lillith asked sarcastically, looking between the two men.
“They're an extremist group who believe they have memories from an alternate timeline,” Five continued explaining.
“Some of their memories are bang on,” Mila supported him, not saying it in any threatening tone. “They're calling this phenomenon the “Umbrella Effect” which seems a little too coincidental to be random.”
Lillith couldn't believe Mila hadn't told her about this at all especially when it had a severe impact on all of their lives.
If people knew they weren't meant to be there what may happen to them?
“Ugh. How is this even possible?” Viktor grumbled.
“Well, we’re still working on figuring that out,” Mila said, a little ashamed.
“What do they want with Jennifer?” Ben asked and both of them just shrugged. “Great. You don't know that either.”
Lillith couldn't hear whatever Allison and Klaus were talking about but she really couldn't be bothered to pay that much attention when her mind was still racing with the questions of whatever was happening to them.
Well she attempted to ignore it until Klaus began shouting.
“No, I think I’ll take it up a notch, shall we? I mean, dysfunction is, after all, what we do best in this family,” his voice turned into a squawking tone. “We got daddy issues! Daddy issues! Chaos Junkie! Mommy issues! More daddy issues! Obnoxious asshole issues! Emotional instability to an extreme.” Something that was targeted at Lillith which she thought was extremely insulting but very accurate. Klaus then turned to Mila. “And you. . . you seem kind of weirdly self actualised, as far as I can tell. Anyway, I’m just so done living- cowering in your little bubble of superiority.”
