Seven Bells
AN: Super random but Agape by Nicholas Britell is what I imagine if Lillith and Mila die that’s what plays when their brain replays their best moments throughout their lives
James and Eliza had been planning this for an extremely long amount of time– a day out to the museum. Both of them found artwork extremely fascinating and in addition due to how much they spoke about it so did Emmy.
However when the Harper family do days out, they stay out for a very long time. And for an eight year old girl being out from seven in the morning to eleven at night is very draining when they're constantly walking.
Obviously they didn't spend the entire time walking around the museum, going to a restaurant for an early dinner, walking around the museum and then going to a park afterwards.
Emmy loved the museum and at every single painting she found fascinating she stopped to get either Eliza or James to read the information on the sign to her and she would talk about what she liked.
She then proceeded to repeat at least a hundred times that she wanted to be an artist ‘just as good as Eliza’ when she was older, despite the fact even yesterday she said she wanted to be a nurse like her father.
But everyone was happy, especially Eliza who had to keep trying to convince James to stop for just one more minute in a specific room, especially when it was landscape art.
However, she was more than happy to go home and the hour and a half long car trip back to their house almost killed her off. At the start, Emmy was happily playing ‘eye-spy’ or trying to understand the game 'word-association’ but failed miserably which both James and Eliza found extremely amusing.
Eventually she fell asleep, along with Eliza who kept saying she was going to stay up so that James had someone to speak to but she didn't last long at all.
Then when the car came to a stop outside of their house, James tried to nudge Eliza awake who in zero way wanted to wake up and she truly didn't wake up when he tried again.
So then he got out of the car, walking to his front door and unlocking it before leaving it open and going back to the car. He walked towards the back seat of the car, unbuckling Emmy’s belt and taking her inside before going back to the front passenger seat.
Only when he put one arm around her back and the other underneath her legs, did she start to slightly wake up but if he was already offering to take her inside, who was she to complain?
She just kept still, trying to hide the smile on her face as she felt herself being placed down on the bed and despite never feeling it as a child, now she understood when people spoke about the comfort it gave.
She had spent years searching for safety and to feel loved even platonically and with James and Emmy she had finally found it.

Lillith was the first one to wake up, so she had to try and lift Diego’s arm from off of her waist so she could stand up. Thankfully, Diego can sleep through absolutely anything, so when she moved his arm which accidentally hit his face, he didn't even stir.
Knowing everyone would be suffering with an extreme hangover, she put some black jeans on and a red top along with a flannel jacket before walking around to see if she could see anyone.
The first place she checked was their unspoken meeting place by the pool tables, something she was still yet to learn and shockingly she saw two of her favourite people.
