The Seven Stages
“Now what?” Luther asked, placing his head in his hands.
Lillith had crouched by the smaller girl, feeling more sympathetic for her than anyone else.
Mila had a life before Five arrived. She had a job, a place to stay and a best friend. She was promised the chance at being able to go back to 2019, and the other Hargreeves’ had ruined it for her.
Lillith, however, was trying to understand other perspectives. Truthfully she hoped one of them had a fatal wound so Five wouldn't kill them. Actually, they could be on their deathbed and Five would finish them off because they were late.
He hadn't had a break, he was picked from one apocalypse he had spent forty five years trying to stop and thrown into another one, so maybe he deserved to be the one to pull the plug. . .
The one to tell everyone to stop fighting.
Five continued pacing up and down, “Now nothing, Luther, alright? Make your peace with God.”
“What? What about Allison and Vanya?”
Lillith raised her hand, “And Diego.”
Five sighed, “Screw all three of them–”
Mila laughed slightly, still feeling a little bit down, “Lillith’s already done that to one.”
But Five didn't hear her so continued, “They should have been here.”
“Something must've happened to them,” Luther tried to reason.
Lillith exhaled, “If they don't have an appropriate reason, Five might stab them.”
Five turned in anger towards his sister, “Don't tempt me. Screw everybody!”
“I’m not into that lifestyle but I respect your choices,” Lillith raised her hands up in surrender. Mila elbowed the woman next to her. “Ow!”
“I was better off on my own in the apocalypse,” Five continued rambling, looking at Mila. “Not you, darling.”
“Five! Come on,” Luther told him, trying to calm him down.
But Five walked towards him pointing his finger at him in annoyance, “You know what, Luther? It’s everyone in the Academy for himself now.”
Lillith raised her hand, “Hey!”
“And for herself,” he corrected.
Five then turned around in annoyance, walking back into Elliott’s house not turning back at the pitiful excuse of the remaining Academy.
Klaus whimpered, “Did Five just get meaner?”
“Mhm, I think it’s the hormones,” Lillith tried to joke, not really knowing how to feel in this exact scenario.
“Maybe the dementia is getting to him,” Mila added, leaning her head on the wall behind her, sighing.
Luther turned to Klaus, “Klaus, go check on Allison, okay? Make sure she’s okay. Lillith you go with him, he probably shouldn't be alone in his state. Find the others and we’ll meet back here. Me and Mila can handle Five.”
Mila groaned, “Oh, don't make me go in there, he’s a bit touchy recently, it's odd.”
“Milena,” Luther said in a firm tone.
Mila rolled her eyes before using Lillith’s hand to help her stand up, before walking after the man sending a ‘save me’ glance back towards Lillith being pushed through the door.
