Wedding at the End of the World

Somehow everything had gotten worse, the only building left standing was Hotel Obsidian where they all gathered after running for their lives to get to the Hotel.

Nothing mattered anymore in Lea’s mind, the world was ending and they’d all die unhappy but this time there’d be another life on their conscience. One that only she, Lillith and Diego knew about.

“So, how is it that we’re still here, but the whole of the universe is going down the cosmic shitter?” Allison asked the rest of them, everyone being scattered around the floor.

“Maybe the Universe is a bitch who believes in karma and thought ‘you guys ended the world you get to watch as it slowly but surely ends’?” Lillith suggested.

“Maybe we’re just the last to get flushed?” Viktor then suggested.

But Allison raised her hand, “Wasn't talking to you.”

“Hey, has anyone seen Klaus?” Luther asked.

“Thank you!” Lillith exclaimed. “I have been worried about our little seance.”

Sloane then sat up straighter, still holding onto Luther’s arm, “Or Dad?”

She originally thought it was an odd pairing but if they wanted to be happy when they're so close to death, who was she to blame them– it actually reminded her a little bit of her and Five. Also they'd actually grown on her a little bit.

“They'll be here,” Diego said matter-of-factly.

Ben looked at him with disgust, “Really? Did they. . . hit traffic?”

Lea had never met Ben– or at least the Umbrella Ben before but he definitely wasn't what she had in mind. Truthfully, she thought they really had the potential to get along if he toned down the rudeness even by a slight percentage.

“I reckon there were chickens crossing the road so they couldn't make it back in time?” Lea suggested, shrugging her shoulders.

“Look, people, we’re alive because we’re special, right?” Ben asked the group. “We’re the only ones who can save the universe.”

Allison raised her hand, “Uh, question.”

Ben quickly turned round pointing at her, “Yes?”

“Didn't we just try that and fail miserably?” She pointed out.

“What do they say, fourth attempt at saving the world’s the charm, right?” Lillith said in a joking manner, causing Lea and Diego to laugh.

“We failed because his plan was stupid,” Diego said, Lillith quickly turning and glaring at him before smiling and gently hitting his shoulder. “I got a better one.”

Ben looked away from him in annoyance, “Of course you do.”

“We go with the large hard-on particle accelerator,” he started and the second he said it everyone turned to each other in confusion at the word that definitely wasn't correct. “You guys do some science, and. . .” He clicked his tongue doing a swinging motion with his hands. “. . .we launch the Kugelblitz into outer space. Didn't think I knew that, did ya? It’s in Switzerland.”

Lea looked over at Lillith giving her a look before mouthing, “That’s the father of your child.” Staring at her with panic.

God they just had to pray they got Lillith’s genetics.

Ben smiled sarcastically, “It’s ‘hadron’, not ‘hard-on’, ya moron!”

Lillith had to cover her mouth, looking up at the ceiling to pretend like she wasn't laughing, “Come on, Ben. At least he’s trying– despite being wrong.”
