❝he has to come back.❞ the star turned to the superior, finally being able to tear his eyes away from jungsu.

he couldn't bear watching him being in pain and now it seemed to be feeling even worse than when he went down to see him. time really had run out for jungsu and he had to go back, he would die if he didn't and that was the last thing he wanted to witness. see his best friend dying. he wouldn't be able to handle it.

but he couldn't bring him back, the superior was supposed to do that and only after jungsu called out for them to take him back. yet, the boy on earth seemed to be taking a little too much time to return and now it had got to the point that he was in too much pain, burning from the inside and was going to die if he didn't act quickly and ask to be brought back.

he couldn't help but worry a little too much, to the point that he went to the superior to ask him to take actions. he didn't want to watch his best friend dying.

❝jungsu knows what he's doing.❞ the superior looked down on earth for a brief second, searching for the said star with his eyes.

the boy didn't agree, jungsu clearly did not know what he was doing and how much he was risking his life at that exact moment. every second was too valuable and each of it meant he was a huge step closer to dying.

the superior flew closer to the star, placing his hand gently on the boy's shoulder. ❝i know you are worried, but jungsu will be fine.❞ not like he himself was going to allow for anything to happen to any of the stars. ❝and you, don't get distracted by that and keep an eye on your human. because the situation can get crucial and you will have to go down there too.❞ with those words being said, the superior turned around leaving the star alone.

he knew too well, the superior was right. looking down at his human ⸺ hyeongjun ⸺ who was getting ready to go to bed, the star allowed himself to read the boy's thoughts and hear how devastated he was. hopelessly in love with his best friend who was not even considering anything of that sort.

maybe he would have to go down there but at that exact moment he hated to admit that he cared more about jungsu and his well being than taking care of his human and making sure he was okay. he just hoped jungsu would come back soon and be fine.

the silence in the living room was so loud, so thick and heavy, jungsu was sure he would be able to cut it with scissors.

he had just told jooyeon everything. every single thing that he had been hiding from him since the moment the two had met. confirming the fact that the stars that protected humans actually existed. each person had their own guardian, a star that was responsible for their safety and well being. and, jooyeon's star was jungsu.

how he had always been looking after him, taking care of him and making sure he was being always sound and safe. but after his mother's passing, the situation had got so critical, he had to come back and make everything better that way. that was why he had appeared in the younger's life this suddenly. out of nowhere. trying his very best to help him now from here, clearing jooyeon's blurred path and putting him back on track.

the bond they shared was strong and the reason jooyeon felt immediately attached to him, having a feeling like the two had known each other since forever, was exactly because of that. the attachment, the feeling of being close and wanting him always around was because jungsu was jooyeon's special star.

it took him a moment to explain this and allow for jooyeon to understand it all, then went on to explain the reason behind all his actions and everything that had been happening to him for the last few days. he had to explain, how he still was not a human. it was just temporary, he was not a human, he had never been and he had to adapt to the human life here because a star can not live on earth. that was the reason behind his clumsy attempts of everything, simply because he had no clue how these things worked. how human world worked.
