We stayed in the pub for a good few hours, talking about our lives over the last few years. Rick was now divorced. He had been married when I had met him. But he had told me that he was separated from his wife. It had turned out that he hadn't been and had been having an affair.

As soon as I'd found out I'd dumped him, but the damage had already been done. I had fallen for him hard, and it had taken me a long time to get over him. I'd not really had a serious relationship since then, didn't want to let myself get hurt again. And yet, there I was offering him a second chance.

I needed my head tested...

"You won't regret this Vic. I promise" he said. "I won't hurt you again" he added, as if reading my thoughts.

"You'd better not Nowels" I growled, "or I'll set the lads onto you" I threatened. He laughed. "Oh Vic. I've missed you" he said taking my hands in his. "I've missed you too" I said quietly.

He leant forward and kissed me suddenly, taking me by surprise. I gasped. I had forgotten how he could make me feel with just the slightest touch. The brush of his lips on mine was enough to drive me crazy.

"Rick" I murmured whilst kissing him back. "Hmmm?" I pulled away and stared at him. I grabbed his hand and pulled him with me as I stood up. I stood on tiptoes and whispered in his ear.

"Your place or mine?" He laughed a low seductive laugh that sent shivers down my spine. "I think I owe it to you... mine" he said.

I rolled into work about half an hour later than planned the next day. Let's just say me and Rick had had a little trouble making it out of bed...

I tried to appear cool in front of Gregg, but the look on my face must've said it all. "You and Rick made up then?" he smirked at me. "You could say that" I said, "I left him in bed" I added with a grin.

"Lucky sod" said a voice behind me. I turned and smiled at Ronan. "Yeah, he always was a lazy git" I laughed. He raised his eyebrow at me, and then I realised what he meant.

Or what I thought he meant. But why would Ronan be thinking about..

I shook my head at my own stupidity and walked into the room, Ronan seconds behind me. I accepted the cup of tea that Gregg handed me and sat down to try and do some work.

"Hey Vic, is Nowels actually gracing us with his presence today?" asked Gregg.

"Hmmmm?" I looked up from the various sheets of paper spread out in front of me. I was engrossed in trying to finish the song we'd started two days ago, it was seriously starting to drag. but so far I'd only managed to come up with one line, and even that was Rick inspired.

I think it was safe to say that my mind wasn't totally on the job...

"'Cause when you kiss my lips, I see lightening in the sky" I read out to Gregg, thinking he'd asked me about what I was writing. "Nice. based on anyone we know?" he asked with a glint in his eye.

"Oi!" I said and threw a crumpled up piece of paper at him. "Watch it Alexander..."

"Anyway speaking of Nowels" I shot him a filthy look. "I was asking if he'd actually coming in today?"

"Oh, no. I don't think he is actually. I'm sure he said something about a meeting with Sony" I said thoughtfully, as I tried to recall our many topics of conversation from the previous night.

"Really?"

I nodded, but was slightly worried by the look on Gregg's face. He almost looked angry. I wondered if everything between him and Rick really was ok, or whether they were just putting on a front for me. "Yeah. I'm sure that's what he said"

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah I'm fine, I need to make a call Vic. I'll be back in a sec"

Whilst Gregg was gone, I started working with Ro, he looked a little lost. So I said he could give me a hand, and we could try to see if we could finish the song, provisionally titled 'Love Is A Hurricane'.

"'Cause when you kiss my lips I see lightening in the sky"

"It's like, one step forward and two steps back, your love is like a hurricane"

"When you're with me, I'm on track, we're riding on a crazy train"

"So that's where we are so far...but we're having a bit of trouble" I explained to Ro as Gregg came back into the room and sat down again.

Me and Ronan were trying to figure out the next line between the two of us, when I had a flash of inspiration. "What about "I'll be fine, if you're mine, at the end of the line"?" I sang this line to Ronan. Having heard the music about a million times the day before, the tune came to me easily.

"I'll be fine, if you're mine, at the end of the line" he sang under his breath back at me. Then suddenly he was out of his chair launching himself at me across the table and gave me a massive hug.

"It's genius Vic!" "I'm not sure about that!" I laughed as I squirmed out of his embrace. I glared at Gregg who was raising his eyebrows at me from the other end of the table and gave him a look which said 'don't even think about it!'.
