I glanced at the clock in my living room, it was quarter to eight. I jumped up nervously and put my glass of wine on the safety of the coffee table.
I made my way to the door and opened it, to find Mikey, wearing a dark blue suit, crisp white shirt and black patent leather shoes.
It was a simple, but stunning outfit, and he looked gorgeous, he almost took my breath away. "Woah, Vic, you look amazing"
"You look pretty amazing yourself" I said shyly.
He smiled, then produced a single white rose from behind his back and handed it to me. "For you" he said.
"It's beautiful" I said and suddenly had an idea.
"Would you come in a sec?" I held the door open for him to follow me in. I stopped in front of the large mirror in my hallway and broke the long stem of the flower carefully then tucked it into my up-do that Kim had so expertly done so it was artfully arranged behind my ear.
"Now that's beautiful" said Mike as I turned around to show him. I blushed, then smiled as Mike held his arm out to me. he was such a gentleman. I accepted his arm and he led me to the car that was waiting outside for us.
"So where are we going?" I asked as we set off. "
"It's a surprise" he said with a sly smile as he took my hand.
"Oh ok"
We pulled up about half an hour later outside the Dylan. One of Dublins most exclusive boutique hotels, and home of the famous "Dylan" restaurant.
"Wow" I said quietly. I'd always wanted to come here, but had never had gotten a chance. I wondered if he'd known that or if it was just good taste on his behalf.
"A little birdie told me you wanted to come here"
"Hmmm was he Irish or American?" I asked with a smile.
"Who said it was a he?" Mike said mysteriously.
"Kim!" I exclaimed.
"Maybe"
He laughed and turned to the driver, who went to step out of the car, but Mikey leant forward and said something to him that I couldn't quite hear and then got out of the car himself. He was on my side of the car and, opening the door beside me before I knew what was happening. He held his hand to me. I smiled.
He really was such a gentleman. I could get used to this I thought to myself.
We walked into the hotel lobby together, Mike with his arm draped loosely around my shoulder.
Even with my heels on he was taller than me, but then most people were. I kind of liked it though.
"I thought we'd have a drink first if that's ok?" he asked as we walked through the lobby into the bar.
"Sure" I smiled, "but I'm not sure it needs to be alcoholic".
He laughed, "maybe not".
We went to the up to the bar and waited to be served. "Vic?"
"Hmmm" I had been distracted looking around the famous bar.
"Oh sorry, Can I have a coke please?"
"Sure?"
"Yes, thanks".
Mike turned back to the barman and I started looking around again, then at the other end of the bar, I saw a familiar flash of blonde hair and my heart staring racing.
Not again!!!!!
