The rest of the afternoon flew by. Once I had gotten over the initial shock of being in the same room as the five members of my favourite band, we'd had a ball.
They were all really easy to get on with, and I only hoped that they'd like my lyrical efforts for them. They had left at about five! and as we'd not gotten much done whilst they were there, me and Gregg stayed behind for a couple of hours to work on a few ideas that he had.
I was shattered by the time I got home at about 8pm and decided to treat myself to a take away.
I'd eaten it, cleared up, gotten into bed and was about to turn my phone off when it rang, startling me slightly.
"Hello?"
"Hi Vic? It's Ronan"
"Hi" I said quietly.
Oh my god!
"I erm. Hope you don't mind. Gregg gave me your number"
"Along with Karen and Shelley's..."
"I, erm. Just wanted to let you know that I don't think I'll be about tomorrow"
"Oh, that's fine Ronan"
"It's Ro, Vic. Please"
"Sorry, Ro. You know you don't have to come in everyday. That's what me and Gregg are getting paid for, to write for you. Not with you"
"I know, I just..."
I sensed there was something else he wanted to say. He sounded different on the phone. Almost as if were unsure of himself. But he still sounded damn sexy.
Stop it. I said to myself.
"Anyway look. I'm sorry for disturbing you..I'll see you soon yeh?"
"No worries Ro. See you soon"
I ended the call and stared at my mobile as I placed it on the cabinet at the side of me.
I couldn't believe I'd just had Ronan on the phone to me. I shook my head in bewilderment and settled down under the covers.
Just wait until I tell the girls about my day... I thought to myself as I finally drifted off to sleep.
My friends all had fairly normal jobs, my friend Kim was a flight attendant, Ang was a science teacher, Lou was a primary school teacher, Lizzy worked in photography, Charlie in social care, Caz was a dance teacher and Maree was a dancer. In a way, I was the odd one out.
When we'd met, I had had a 'normal' job in a call centre, but had worked with Adam in the studio as a sideline. It was that sideline however, that had gotten me where I was today, full time author and part time songwriter. I had always loved to write, but to be honest, I'd never dreamt that I would be doing it every day. and especially not in such company.
