It was almost an urban legend that once you met your mate once, you would keep seeing them in strange places.

Woojin believed that saying to be correct.

Because he didn't know what possessed him to go to the local grocery store that day. It's not like he desperately needed butter or he'd die.

But to him, at that moment, the nagging feeling that he needed butter was stronger.

He observed for a bit as the brown beauty read the label of two types of yogurt in concentration.

He had half a mind to make her go right back home and make her change out of those leggings that contoured her silhouette way too well.

He didn't want anyone having a view of her ass.

"You've been standing there for ages," he commented sneaking up on the woman. He grinned slightly at her surprised and embarrassed expression.

"M-Mr Baek!"

Woojin didn't like how formal they still had to be towards each other.

"We're not in the office. You don't have to keep calling me Mr Baek."

"...But you're my boss," Saafeyah shyly countered looking up at the man. She always marvelled at how tall the man was.

People in the office commented on how he was a rare alpha and it made sense to her. She had never met someone so intimidating and with such an air of dominance.

And so tall.

And... attractive.

He made her heart feel like it was going to burst but Saafeyah knew that she had to stay away from this man.

Firstly, if he was such a high status alpha, it is clear that he would never settle for an omega like her. And... she had already promised herself to someone else.

It was a very long time ago but she was a hopeless romantic. She wanted to be loyal to the person she imprinted on as a young omega.

No matter how long it took, she promised to wait for him and she would honour her word.

"Yes, but it's not like I can tell you what to do outside the workplace so, let's speak comfortably."

Saafeyah was conflicted and it showed in her face.

"Yeah? Let's speak comfortably Saafeyah," Woojin persuaded gently holding her chin. The action made her heart skip several beats.

"Okay," she reluctantly agreed clearing her throat. "But I don't know your name."

"It's Woohyun."

The name shocked Saafeyah making her head go into overdrive. She was having a million thoughts a minute and her heart was racing.

Because... did they have the same name?

"Woohyun? Hey I know I asked before bu-but have we meet before?"

Seeing the girl so panicked made Woojin grin. He knew exactly what he was doing by introducing himself by that name.

He was really developing weird kinks when it came to Saafeyah because that expression of her worried and stressed made him want to fuck her.

On the spot.

"Should I be jealous of the guy called Woohyun," he asked feigning ignorance. "But I was joking, my name is Woojin. Baek Woojin."

"Oh, Woojin... I see," Saafeyah sighed finally putting one of the yogurts back into the shelf.

"Don't look so disappointed," he continued teasing leaning to whisper in her ear. "I bet you I can make you forget about him."

The tone of his voice and underlying meaning in his words made Saafeyah get incredibly hot. She could feel herself blushing from the tip of her ears to her toes.

"He-hey, stop i-it! Me and... me and W-Woohyun... it isn't like that."

"But between us, it can be like that."

"W-why... with me? I- I'm just an employee."

"Why, huh?"

Woojin wasn't quite ready to reveal the reason yet. It was toxic but he needed the woman to be more infatuated with him.

"Maybe I'll tell you a different day," he smiled. "Let's get the rest of the stuff on your list."
...

"You don't have to help me, I'll just call an Uber from here."

Saafeyah tried reaching for the reusable bag with a Cinnamonroll pattern on his shoulder but Woojin took a step back.

"I can drive you home."

"B-but I don't want to get in your way."

"How if I'm the one offering?"

Saafeyah tried not to stare or act like a plebeian but she had never been inside of such a plush, top of the range car. She didn't know the exact year but she knew it had to be an expensive Range Rover.

"Do you like the car," Woojin asked selecting a random song on his Apple car play.

"Y-yeah it's really comfortable," Saafeyah commended feeling like she was on a cloud. She was still surprised by the amount of leg room she had.

"Then put on your seatbelt." Woojin fastened the seatbelt for her - the gesture making butterflies flutter in her stomach.

Saafeyah tried being discrete as she watched Woojin drive but she was completely mesmerised by his smooth movements.

"Thank you for driving me home."

"It's cool, it's not like I have anything else to do."

Saafeyah couldn't work out what kind of person Woojin was. At times he was talkative and very intense but other times he just felt like a calm tide to her.

And although she didn't want to, she was starting to become curious about the man.

"What are you thinking about?"

"You'd make fun of me."

After a brief moment of silence, Woojin smiled nodding in agreement.

"You're right."
