She smelled sweet like honey.
He smelled salty like the sea.
Two scents that didn't mix but, that were intoxicating to the two individuals regardless.

"I want to lie to you Woojin but the dates line up."
"With what?"
"The date the child was conceived lines around the time frame you two last slept together," sungwoo read off the sheet not even wanting to look at his friend and boss. "It's giving absent father."
"Do you think I need a DNA test?"
"Do you believe Saafeyah was sleeping with someone around the time she was sleeping with you?"
Woojin and Sungwoo looked at each other before they burst into laughter.
There was no way.
"I hope you're in a good mood because what I'm about to tell you next will definitely upset you..."
... "Woojin, please-"
Woojin snatched his arm from Sungwoo completely livid.
He marched towards the apartment building feeling enraged. He couldn't believe this... he couldn't believe she hid this from him and tried to do some bullshit like that.
Some would call it irony.
"Woojin, this isn't going to solve it if you charge in-"
"Sungwoo, get the fuck out of my way. Figure out a way to open this door or I'm breaking it." ...
Saafeyah jolted up from the sofa hearing loud bangs in her door. She was worried about who was at her door so late at night but more worried about them waking up Taehyun.
That would annoy her because today he was being fussy before bed time.
"What are you doing here?"
Saafeyah looked at Woojin clad in an all black tracksuit. He looked really angry and she was annoyed that even in that moment... she wanted him.
"Saafeyah, you thought I wouldn't find out?"
Saafeyah thought she knew exactly what he was talking about but thought she could buy some time by playing dumb.
"About what?"
"Saafeyah don't even try it. You tried to give my fucking child to adoption without even telling me," he hissed banging his fist against the wall. The action made Saafeyah jump.
She didn't expect anyone to ever find out that happened.
And she never wanted them to. It wasn't a moment she was proud of. She was just desperate and overwhelmed. She wasn't thinking at all.
"I... I can explain... I- You don't understand-"
"You think it's okay to hide him? I'm his father and you just- Saafeyah- when were you going to tell me?"
"Woojin please- I wanted to tell you but this was what I was trying to avoid this-"
"Just admit that you were punishing me for what happened before but using a kid is low Saafeyah."
And Sungwoo thought this was the pot calling the kettle black.
If anything, this whole mess started with Woojin being dramatic. Had he simply introduced himself as Woojin from the start or admitted he was Woohyun at some point, this whole debacle would have been done.
"I would never do that to Taehyun," she shook her head gently. "Don't you think this whole situation is killing me. I've made a mistake but it wasn't payback at all."
"Come talk to me right now-"
"Mummmmyyyy," the little boy ran to his mother peeking from behind her legs. Taehyun stared at the tall men and slightly glared at them. He wanted to see if his mom was okay because he heard people shouting.
"It's okay chicken," Saafeyah cooed getting down to his level. "The adults are just talking."
"Why are they yelling at you... I don't lwike it," he hugged his mother wanting her to feel better.
Taehyun hated getting yelled at as well.
"I know we woke you know up, right," she asked trying to change the subject. "But it's time to go back to bed."
"Can we sleep on the same bed," he asked with a hopeful expression. It only happened on special occasions but Taehyun was hoping his mom would say yes.
Saafeyah held the boy in her arms watching Woojin's expression soften as he looked at his son.
All Sungwoo could think about is how stupid they'd look if they had ordered a paternity test.
If they had doubts before, the boy's face alone was enough to put it all to bed. He couldn't look more like Woojin if he tried.
And Woojin felt angry that Saafeyah had tried to hide his child from him. It was obviously his child
"I didn't mean to yell, I'm sorry little one," Woojin apologised in a calmer voice.
Saafeyah and Sungwoo were just surprised that Woojin knew the word sorry existed.
"But you have to never do it again... and say sorry to mummy."
It filled Woojin with pride for his son to be so outspoken and courageous. A lot of kids cowered in front of adults but he wasn't timid.
"I'm sorry mummy," Woojin apologised immediately surprising Sungwoo and Saafeyah once again. "I won't yell at you anymore."
"And now you have to pinky pro-"
"Can we talk about this another time," Saafeyah interrupted quickly giving Taehyun a look to be quiet. "It's really late... and Taehyun-"
Woojin looked at the sleepy boy not wanting to disturb him either. It was a Tuesday night as well so a school night... sometimes he wished that he wasn't as dominated by his emotions.
"I'm sorry... for this," Woojin apologised fixing a strand on Taehyun's head. He stroked his cheek smiling at how hard he fought to stay awake. "Then tomorrow."
"But Woojin-"
"I'm going to text you a location and time. So when the car comes tomorrow, get in."
