- TEN YEARS AGO-

"Can't you understand I'm going crazy?!"

"Lower your tone and control your pheromones," Eunbyeol warned with a pointed look.

She was a dominant alpha however, her son's pheromones made her light headed... especially when he lost control or when he got angry.

And she was sick of being blamed for doing the right thing. She was tired of Woojin's teenage tantrums.

And Woojin was tired of being quarantined in the house. He had to speak to his friends through messages and video calls. He hadn't met a new human in years.

The only people allowed near him outside of his family and staff were the specialists... who Woojin hated seeing.

They were just jerks to him who recommended that all Woojin be is isolated from the world.

And he was going to lose it.

"Mom... please, I'll control myself just let me leave this house," he pleaded getting on his knees. He tried puppy dog eyes but Eunbyeol was unfazed by her son.

"I'm not letting you leave when you're still throwing tantrums," she expressed continuing to flip through her magazine.
...

"Mr Kim... she isn't budging," Woojin sighed looking at the butler. "I tried everything!"

"Young master... you did release your pheromones in a threatening way - that doesn't show maturity."

"What else could I do?! She doesn't understand she's driving me up the wall..."

"I know," the man sympathised. "Perhaps this will make you happier."

Woojin looked at the pictures feeling a small smile grace his lips.

Saafeyah just got prettier and prettier every year. Currently only Mr Kim knew but his situation and he wanted to keep it that way.

He had begged his family to never find the omega who awakened him despite the specialists saying they wanted to monitor her and Woojin together. Woojin never wanted Saafeyah to be a part of that... because he himself hated it.

He felt like everyone treated him like a science project.

But Mr Kim made him feel better with little updates on how Saafeyah was doing. Just the thought of her made him feel more grounded.

But it was starting not to be enough.

If he could just see her... just once... he just wanted to talk to her.
...

Woojin knew he shouldn't have been here.

He had snuck out by pretending that he was feeling sick and had to lay down. He knew they would all eventually find out that the pillow fortress wasn't him but... he was done playing by their rules.
