Chapter 51: All's well that ends well!

----------------------

As I open my eyes, everything appears blurry. How long was I out? What time was it? What day is it?

Then I sense the throbbing pain at the back of my head, making me groan. Ahh, back in the school's infirmary.

"Ah! You're awake!" I hear Grim say in relief. A second later, Grim is floating in front of me, his face looking embarrassed and remorseful.

"Ugh... what happened?" I ask, rubbing the sleepiness from my eyes. From the corner of my eye, I also see Jack, Ace, and Deuce.

"You passed out in the second half of our match. You don't remember. Grim nailed you in the head with the disc," explains Ace. My eyes widen in shock.

"Do you remember who we are?" asks Ace in worry.

I nod. "At least, no additional memories were knocked out of me," I joke.

"Sorry about that. I was trying to score with a super-cool long shot. But you were kinda in the way," mumbles Grim.

"So I ruined your great shot?!" I ask in incredulity.

Grim avoids my gaze and dives towards me, hugging me tightly.

Jack huffs and scolds Grim while crossing his arms together: "Newbies shouldn't try stuff like that. You need better disc control."

Grim snuggles deeper into me, hiding away from everyone's scrutiny.

"Anyway, I'm glad you woke up. We were really worried. You were out for a long time after the exhibition match," comments Deuce in relief.

"Anyway, this adds to Lilith's tally for the time spent in the infirmary~," teases Ace

I roll my eyes while replying sarcastically: "Thanks for always keeping track of me, Ace."

"You're welcome!" responds Ace cheerfully, but his face grows serious. "Well, you were asleep for so long that the closing ceremony is long over. They've already started dismantling the venue."

Suddenly, a growl of someone's stomach echoes throughout the room. The boys turn to look at Grim, who protests: "It wasn't me this time!"

"Yeah, sorry. That was me this time. After all that happened today, I am sad that I missed out on the festival food. What a waste~!" I whine slightly.

Just then, Deuce pulls out a paper bag from behind him and hands it to me. Prying the bag open, I inhale the aroma of the food. My eyes light up at the sight of the pizza toast and chicken karaage. Grim explains: "We managed to get ya some good stuff during our food haul."

Then I see Ace emit a small teasing smile and fake a cough, "*Ahem* It's all Grim's idea. He was worried you'd get hungry later," he coughs.

"But, of course, Grim didn't have the money, so Ace and I paid for it," Deuce informs.

"Awww, you guys! Thanks for the food!" I chime in happily before digging in, as Grim curls beside my pillow, feeling forgiven. In the meantime, Ace and Deuce sit on the edges of my bed. Even though Jack remains standing, he looks relaxed: even his tail is wagging slightly.

All of a sudden, it hit me: "Wait, which dorm won?"

"Diasomnia..." It's Leona's voice, sounding disappointed. Turning to my right, I see that Leona and Ruggie have been lying in the infirmary beds beside me all this time.
