Author's note: Hey dear readers~! I'm back and hope you guys enjoy the chapter!
----------------------
We made it to our first class of the day — the potions class. I sit in the last row of a laboratory classroom, between Deuce and Ace, while Grim is nestled on the tabletop near me.
At the front of the classroom is a tall slim man who looks fancy from his head down to his toe. His short stylish hair is parted on the left side, with the longer tuft of his hair coloured white and flopping slightly over the top of his forehead, while the shorter side is jet-black. The rays of the morning sunlight, shining through the window, brings out the sparkle of the silver studs pierced into his earlobes just beneath his hair. His slanted grey eyes fit perfectly with his thin, sharp face that converges down to a pointy chin. He wore a black dress shirt with a burgundy tie, tucked underneath a black-and-white vest with red buttons of the same shade as the tie. Just below is a matching pair of sleek black dress pants adorned with a black leather belt featuring a silver buckle and studs wrapped around his trim waist. His hands and feet are covered with blood-red gloves and socks that are tucked into black-and-white vintage shoes. Over his fashionable outfit was a thick, but very soft black-and-white furry coat. As he enters the classroom, three tail-like appendages hanging from the bottom of his coat would sway gently from side to side.
"So... you're all the fresh faces in my homeroom," he speaks with a velvety voice that blends perfectly with his outfit, as he twirls the thin black cigarette holder with a red dog collar and jewel charm dangling at the end of it with his gloved fingers.
So fluffy... I wonder if the coat is as soft as it looks... I wonder.
Surveying the classroom with a sweeping gaze, the teacher pets his hair and mutters distractedly, "Hmmm, there are some rare hair colours in the bunch. Not bad. Make sure to take care of it daily."
Hair!? Why is he talking about our hair? Is he gonna use them in the potions?! I feel bewildered.
"My name is Divus Crewel... feel free to call me Master Crewel. The class shall begin... First for the basics," he announces languidly, waving his cigarette holder in the air. While tapping the cigarette holder against the palm of his right hand and giving us a sadistic smile, Master Crewel continues casually, "I will beat the names and appearances of 100 types of medicines and poison into your little brains. We'll cover fungus later. Make sure you memorise them so you don't go around getting poisoned by random things you eat off the ground. Dogs will eat whatever is lying around."
I tense at Mr Crewel's intimidating aura, as he smirks at us: "Your training will be strict..." There is a slight pause as he taps his cigarette holder ominously on the palm of his right hand again, "...and I better not see any red marks on your tests."
Deuce nods, as though he is mesmerised in awe. But underneath his breath, he whispers to us without daring to turn his head, "By the way, what's a 'fungus'?"
"I think it's kind of like a wild mushroom..." I explain.
Deuce turns to me with slight surprise. "Does your world teach poisons too, Lilith?"
I shook my head: "No, I don't think so. I think it's just something that someone told me about."
"I see..."
Ace groans lightly and slumps on his desk: "Blegh. I'm not good at memorizing."
Grim doesn't look too impressed either: "All that matters for grass is whether or not it tastes good."
