The summer air hung heavy with anticipation as Y/N prepared for her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The bustling Diagon Alley greeted her with its magical charm, each shop beckoning with promises of adventure and discovery. With her list of supplies clutched tightly in her hand, Y/N navigated through the crowds, her heart pounding with excitement.
Her first stop was Ollivanders, the famous wand shop that held the key to her magical abilities. The moment Y/N entered, the air seemed to hum with ancient power. She watched in awe as Mr. Ollivander expertly selected wand after wand, until finally, one responded to her touch—a wand of maple and dragon heartstring, eleven inches precisely. The warmth that spread through her fingertips confirmed its choice, and Y/N left the shop feeling a newfound confidence in her abilities.
Next came Flourish and Blotts, where Y/N eagerly collected textbooks on potions, charms, and transfiguration. She lost herself in the aisles, imagining the knowledge and spells she would soon possess. Quality Quidditch Supplies provided her with the necessary gear, although she wasn't quite sure if she would try out for the house team just yet.
At Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions, Y/N tried on her Hogwarts uniform—a set of black robes lined with silver and a matching pointed hat. Seeing herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but feel a surge of pride knowing she was part of something bigger than herself.
After a stop at the Apothecary for potion ingredients and a visit to Eeylops Owl Emporium for a snowy owl companion, Y/N made her way to the platform at King's Cross Station. The sight of the scarlet Hogwarts Express billowing steam filled her with excitement. As she boarded the train and found an empty compartment, nervousness mingled with anticipation.
Just as the train began to move, the compartment door slid open, revealing three students—two boys and a girl—whose faces were familiar from her readings about Hogwarts.
"Mind if we join you?" One of the boys asked with a friendly smile, gesturing to the empty seats.
Y/N nodded eagerly, her nerves easing as she thought this would be the moment she would meet people who could potentially become her only friends. Introductions were made, and soon they were deep in conversation, exchanging stories about their summers and their expectations for the coming school year. Y/N found herself drawn to Hermione's intelligence, Ron's humor, and Harry's quiet strength. They made her feel welcome like she belonged.
