A/N: Hi sorry if this sounds different from the movie. I am struggling to make it connect with the rest of the chapters I wrote before. I also haven't written anything in a week since I wrote ahead, so it's hard to get back into writing again. Still hope you enjoy it!
Professor McGonagall's stern voice cut through the classroom as she assigned their punishment. "Y/N Y/L/N, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, you will serve detention with Hagrid this evening in the Forbidden Forest. Be at his hut by 7 o'clock sharp."
Y/N felt a surge of frustration. The Forbidden Forest was daunting enough during the day, let alone at night. She exchanged a tense glance with Draco, whose expression hardened into a scowl.
Draco, walking slightly ahead, turned to McGonagall with a puzzled look. "Why am I in trouble, Professor? I wasn't anywhere near that forest."
McGonagall fixed Draco with a stern gaze. "I suggest you all listen closely, Mr. Malfoy. Four of you were seen near the forest. As for you, Mr. Potter, you were even seen crossing the line and going into it."
Draco gave a disdainful snort, but McGonagall ignored it.
As evening descended, Y/N joined Hermione, Ron, and Harry outside the castle, preparing to head to Hagrid's cabin for their detention. Draco, walking slightly ahead, muttered under his breath, "This is ridiculous. We wouldn't be in this mess if Potter hadn't decided to play hero."
Y/N, feeling the sting of Draco's accusation, shot back defiantly, "Oh, so now it's Potter's fault, is it? Last time I checked, you were just as curious about what Hagrid was hiding."
Draco scoffed, turning to face her with a sneer. "Curiosity is one thing, but reckless behavior is another. You Gryffindors seem to have a knack for it."
"Reckless?" Y/N retorted, her voice rising with irritation. "We were investigating, trying to uncover the truth, just like any Slytherin would. Don't pretend you wouldn't have done the same."
They continued walking, the tension thickening between them. Hermione, Ron, and Harry exchanged worried glances, sensing the argument intensifying.
"It's always someone else's fault with you, isn't it?" Draco said bitterly. "You Slytherins think you can do whatever you want and get away with it."
"At least we take responsibility for our actions," Y/N shot back, her tone tinged with sarcasm. "Unlike some who hide behind their family's influence."
Draco's jaw clenched, his pale features darkening with anger. "Watch your words, Y/L/N. You don't know anything about me or what it means to uphold Slytherin pride."
Y/N rolled her eyes, her patience wearing thin. "Oh, I know enough. You're just another privileged pureblood who believes they're above everyone else."
Draco stopped abruptly, turning to face her with a cold fury. "You're an embarrassment to Slytherin," he spat out, his voice laced with disdain.
Before Y/N could respond, Hagrid's booming voice interrupted their heated exchange. "Come on in, come on in," Hagrid greeted them warmly, oblivious to the tension outside. "Got a task for yeh tonight that'll keep yeh busy."
As they entered the cabin, Y/N and Draco exchanged one last glare, knowing their detention in the Forbidden Forest was about to begin amidst the simmering animosity between them.
