Forever & Always

Arjun

"How do you feel, sir?" a journalist asked me.

It was the day of my art collection launch, and a mix of close friends, colleagues, and fellow artists had gathered to support me. A small group of local photographers and journalists, who shared a love for art, surrounded me, firing questions.

"I feel surreal. Art has been my lifelong passion. It feels like I've finally reached a significant milestone. Perhaps, you could call it lady luck," I responded with a sense of accomplishment.

"That's the final question I'll be taking. Thank you all for coming. I hope you enjoy your evening and find something you resonate with in the art. Each piece represents an important part of my life, and I hope it speaks to you. Once again, thank you," I addressed the audience.

Applause surrounded me as I smiled at everyone, with the loudest cheers coming from my wife, Adira. Her wide smile, radiating with pride and love, made me feel like the luckiest man.

Excusing myself from the crowd, I made my way over to her as the attendees dispersed.

"I'm so proud of you, my love," she said, and I kissed her cheek. Even after four years of marriage, our love remained as strong as ever. People often say the honeymoon phase fades, but in our case, it seemed everlasting. Every time I looked at her, I was still in awe of her beauty and grace.

"Me too, Daddy. Where's my kiss?" our adorable daughter chimed in, holding her mother's hand.

With her hazel eyes and cute button nose, she was a carbon copy of Adira, inheriting my hair and lips. Dressed in a pink outfit with butterfly clips, she looked like an angel. She was the perfect combination of my mischievousness and Adira's warm kindness, both naughty and responsible.

I scooped her up in my arms, adjusting her dress. "As my little Hazelnut wishes. Her command is my wish," I declared, planting a kiss on her cheek, which she promptly returned to my cheek.

"Your face is so stubby," she observed, wrinkling her nose, referring to my stubble.

"Is that so?" I tickled her, prompting her laughter. She was the only other woman, besides Adira, to whom I wanted to give my everything.

"I think it suits you," my wife interjected. "You look too sexy and edible."

"I can't wait to get this event over with so I can show you what I find edible," I whispered in her ear, and she blushed.

Witnessing Adira with a full pregnancy belly, her skin glowing and her cheeks slightly plump, was truly a blessing. Even now, having shed that weight and looking stunning in her fitted black dress, she had been even more breathtaking when she carried our baby. And let's not talk about those hormones – they were on a bumping  rollercoaster ride. Her cravings became more intense, and during the last trimester, she seemed insatiable, especially for me. Neither seemed a problem for me.
