"I want your finger." You didn't know what to say. Why did she want your finger?

"m-my what?" you stuttered, shocked.

"It's simple. I just take your finger. It's painless really."

"What do I say to people when they ask about it?" you said to yourself.

"It's more straightforward than that. I will take your finger but it will be replaced."

"By what?"

"A fake finger, but it will look and feel real. The one I have will be more... symbolic." She reassured you. You were about to question why she would do it, but then decided you had the better deal. So you agreed and signed your name on the paper she wanted you to sign. She motioned for you to place a hand in front, but you didn't know which one.

"The left sweetheart. It's often the least used." You placed your left hand down on a table and she moved her hand towards it, as soon as she did, you retracted your hand.

"How about we do it the easy way?" she sighed. "You put your hand down and close your eyes, when you open I will have finished and it will look and feel like you still have all five. Ok?"

"Yes" you replied anxiously. Doing as she said. You felt an odd feeling in your hand, but you couldn't tell which finger she removed.

"Open your eyes. It's done." You looked to see your hand, exactly like it had been before. You never questioned which one it was, not wanting to know the answer.

She gave you thirty minutes to say goodbye, then you were to return to the waterfall. When you next blinked you were back there, near your home. You rushed off to your house. When you arrived you explained how you were leaving for earth, then pointed out the mirror and how you can stay in touch. They tried to stop you from going, saying it was the wrong choice. But you left anyway, it was too late to reverse the deal. You didn't pack much; your clothes would be useless. Luckily you had kept some from earth so you changed into them before hugging your family goodbye one last time. You arrived at the waterfall with minutes to spare, clutching your bag and waiting.

He had sat in the same spot. Reading about the same magic. But all that was in front of him was mud and dirt. He stood up and turned around to leave. He thought this was the end. That's when he heard it. An almost inaudible drip. If he hadn't had his werewolf hearing he would've missed it.

"Liam?" you asked, not believing your eyes. He swivelled around and you ran forward, embracing him. He stoked your hair, reminding himself what it was like to have you near again. Memorizing it in case it was all a dream.

"Is it really you?" he whispered, afraid of the answer. You nodded, your nose rubbing his neck. He stepped back, peppering your face and neck with kisses, making you giggle.

"I found a way to make this permanent" you exclaimed. He smiled, pulling you close again.

The pack was glad to have you back and you had become an important member. You and Liam lived happily, both creating the 'dream' life for the two of you. Eventually, after living in a rented flat for years, you bought a house. To celebrate, Liam took you out to dinner.

You finished your conversation to your siblings through the mirror, carefully wrapping it up and placing it in a drawer.

"Are you ready?" he asked, tying his shoes up and slipping on a jacket.

"Yes, I am" you replied, smiling at him. The restaurant wasn't far away, and you arrived with plenty of time to spare. You waited until they had cleaned and set up the table. You noticed Liam fidgeting beside you.

"Are you okay? You're moving around a lot" you asked, more concerned than annoyed.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine, great actually. What about you? Are you okay?" he stuttered.

"I'm a bit hungry..." you joked.

"But yes, I'm good." He sighed, relieved. The waiter came to guide you to your table, a candle at the centre. It was very romantic. The waiter handed you menus and you ordered your favourite dish. You talked, however Liam seemed distracted. You finished your food, sipping at the drink in your hand. Liam looked up, rubbing his hands together anxiously.

"Liam, you can tell me what's wrong. I know I've already asked this, but are you alright?" he nervously stood up, alarming you, before dropping down onto one knee. He took your hand in his. He didn't say anything for a few minutes and you could tell he was struggling to find the right words, so you placed your other hand on top of his as well.

"Y/n. when I met you, I thought you were the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on. I was right, but you also have the most beautiful heart. You're my anchor and I wouldn't have it any other way. I want to spend my life with you... will you marry me?" he looked at your intertwined hands, frightened to look at you. You brought is hand up to your lips, placing a gentle kiss near his knuckles.

"yes. Yes! Of course I'll marry you!" you exclaimed, so he reached into his pocket, pulling out a tiny box.

"I wanted the ring to be a surprise" he said, opening the lid. Inside there was a beautiful gold diamond ring, with a large diamond in the centre, with two smaller diamonds, one at each side.

"Wow" you sighed, admiring it.

"That's not all, look at the two smaller ones" he suggested, tilting the box. As he did, the diamonds were no longer clear, they were green with silver speckles.

"Oh my... they- they look just like my eyes used to." You stated, taking the box from Liam.

"I know you had to give up your elf eyes in order to be with me. I knew how much they meant to your people, and to you." He took the ring out of the box, shutting it and placing it back in his pocket. He held your hand, slipping the ring onto your finger.
