A/N: I did Liam on his own because it was so long, therefore Isaac will have his own too.
Liam:
you were standing at the starting line, people were standing in groups around you, chatting. you started to stretch, making sure you weren't going to pull a muscle in the race. you were about to run a half-marathon for a charity event beacon hills high school was holding. you usually weren't a great runner, but decided you would join in and raise money anyway. so you started to practice running after school and now you were stood here, a large '34' written on a piece of paper which was stuck on your back. after a while someone approached you and they stood next to you on the starting line. he tried stretching but it didn't look like he knew what he was doing.
"if you stand at the front you have less chance of coming last." he stated, as he finished stretching.
"that was my thinking." you both laughed and chatted about the race for a while longer. the host of the event was running late but you were happy talking to this guy. a bell rang out, signalling for you to get in your places. you and the boy were at the very front, rocking back and forth on your feet waiting for the starting sound. when it went off a lot of people overtook you, but that was to be expected. you quickly got into a steady rhythm next to the boy.
"so...number 34. what are you doing here all by yourself?" he asked, already sounding slightly out of breath.
"my friends are at home, probably watching TV." you sighed. its true, even though you weren't a sporty person, you were probably the most sporty out of all your friends. "what about you?"
"I was meant to be meeting a friend here, but ever since he started hanging out with 'popular' people he hasn't been around much." you could tell it bothered him a lot.
"well its his loss, if he isn't being a good friend then he doesn't deserve you." you said, glancing behind you. you couldn't see anyone. maybe you were at the back.
"thanks it means a lot." you could feel your legs burning, but you pushed on anyway.
"I'll be your friend" you said, smiling at him.
"great thanks." he joked.
"well I'll take that as a complement then!" you said, gently smacking his shoulder. you ran for a while longer, talking whenever you had the breath. you started to approach the finish line.
"bet I can beat you to it" you said. you didn't hear his reply as you sprinted towards the finish. you crossed the line before him, cheering.
"well done you too, you're the first across" the host stated. both of your jaws fell open, not believing what he had just said. he handed you both medals and then walked off. you turned to each other, still in shock.
"wow" he breathed. "I didn't expect that!" he put the medal around his neck. "we won! well... you won, but I came second!"
"I cant believe it." you muttered. the two of you stood therefor a while, waiting until your breathing had gone back to normal. "what's your name then number 62?" you questioned.
"mason, you?" he said, as you walked over to gather your things. you told him your name and then decided to go out and grab something to eat at a café in town. you drove there since mason couldn't drive. when you arrived you got a table by the window and each ordered a smoothie and a sandwich. masons phone interrupted your conversation as soon as you started your meal.
"ugh, do you mind if my friend joins us, he said he's sorry for not being able to attend the race, but he is free now." he said. typing a reply into his phone.
"I guess you've already made that decision. sure, why not. but don't go easy on him" you warned, taking another sip of the smoothie. a short while later a boy walked through the door, turning towards mason and smiling.
"so you've replaced me." the boy teased. mason just nodded as the boy pulled a chair over and sat down in between you two. " I'm Liam by the way, masons best friend." he turned towards you. you copied mason and just nodded. "ok, I'm sorry for not being at the race, how about I make it up to you." he pleaded with mason. after a while of negotiating a deal for how Liam was going to make it up to mason, Liam turned his attention back to you. I don't think I got your name."
"y/n. " you said. "its nice to finally meet the bad friend." you kept a serious expression, trying to act like you meant what you were saying, although you were only trying to mess with him.
"oh, not you too" he moaned. "we've only just met, you can't hate me" you disagreed with him and he kept contradicting you until you finally gave in. by then you were all laughing.
"I have to go" mason announced suddenly. you exchanged numbers so you could keep in touch and then said goodbye and he left, leaving you and Liam alone.
"so are you going to give me your number?" he asked winking at you. you almost choked on your drink.
"excuse me!!" you asked, still shocked.
"well we are on a date, so you may as well give me your number." you stared at him, trying to stop the heat rising to your cheeks.
"we are not on a date." you said.
"yes we are, we are two people who like each other, spending time together. its a date." he likes me? you thought, distracted by his confession.
"I don't like you" you said, although it came out as a squeak.
"yes you do" he said, a huge smirk spread across his face.
"no I don't." you muttered. his eyes went from your face to your chest. your eyes widened. "don't look at my chest!!" it was his turn to blush.
"I....uh...I wasn't....I didn't mean to...." he stuttered. his eyes scanned the room looking for a way to escape.
"then what were you doing?" you asked. slightly enjoying making him uncomfortable. he sighed, trying to find an excuse.
"I was seeing if you were lying, peoples heart beats rise when they lie."
"and you could her mine...." you whispered under you breath. he nodded, indicating that he heard you. it was then you realised. "you're a werewolf!" you whispered. he looked at you, questioning how you knew about supernatural creatures. it was then you left the café and started walking around the town. he told you how he turned and you told him how you had seen a supernatural creature when you were a kid and had been obsessed ever since. he showed you his claws and his fangs as he walked you back home. you were so lost in the conversation you didn't realise that you had been walking around your block multiple times. you stopped outside your house.
"do you want to come in?" you questioned, making your way towards the door. he nodded, observing the house. you both entered, walking straight up to your room where you spent the rest of your 'date' showing him all the supernatural creatures and events you had discovered.
