Brett:

"are you ready?" he asked, as he stood at your front door in a smart outfit. you nodded shyly, looking down at your dress, straightening it out. he took your hand, leading you out to his car.

"don't worry, you'll be the best dressed there." he smiled across at you. you were driving for about an hour, headed for a theatre that was showing the latest Broadway show.

"I've never seen one before." you started "where are we sat?" he told you the seat number but it didn't mean anything to you. truthfully you were dreading it, you didn't know how to act, what to wear and you knew you were going to be judged. you arrived in a car park that was surprisingly empty; only a few other cars were scattered around. you got out of the car and followed Brett down the road until you saw what you assumed was the theatre. a group of people were crowding round, earning a frown from Brett. he could almost see over everyone's heads but could only read the letters: 'CLOSED' which were boldly written across the top. you told him you would get to the front and slowly muscled your way through the chatter.

'CLOSED - the following shows have been cancelled due to urgent repairs'

you read down the list until you found the show you were going to see. you shuffled back through the people and reached Brett, telling him what you saw. he looked annoyed and started pacing back and forth, rubbing the back of his neck. he stopped abruptly, facing you.

"I'm so sorry, everything is ruined."

"no, Brett everything's fine. actually, I'm kind of relieved."

"you are?"

"yes! I had no idea what I was doing and it made me really nervous. I would like to go and see a show with you, but next time let me have more than 3 hours notice!" you exclaimed.

"okay, but what are we going to do now?" he sighed, placing his hands on your waist. you decided to drive back, but halfway through your journey, Brett sat up straight and went off-route.

"where are you going, beacon hills is that way" you said, pointing to the direction you should be going.

"I've been here before, multiple times. there's a clearing up ahead that you'll love." you drove a short distance before you arrived at the clearing. he hopped out and sat on the grass in front, leaning on a rock. he stuck his hand out for you to join him. you wandered over and grabbed his hand. you went to sit next to him but he pulled you over his lap so that you could lean against the rock facing each other. you couldn't help but look at him, his eyes, the way he smiled. it was all perfect, or as close to perfect as anyone can be.

"look up." he whispered, brushing your hair away from your face. you tilted your head up, gasping at the sight. there were no clouds in the sky and no light pollution.

"wow.." you breathed, not knowing what else to say. he chuckled, holding onto you tighter.

"beautiful isn't it." he said, looking up as well. " I always come here when I want to escape. it's calm and then when I was driving I thought 'y/n loves to star-gaze' and then it all just fit together like a jigsaw. so what? the theatre's closed so  we cant have a date?"

"its amazing" you smiled meaning what you said. his smile grew wider when he knew you loved it. you spent a lot of time star-gazing but the remembered that you had too get home, so you made your way home, talking about what to do for the next date.

Parrish:

knock. Knock.

was two knocks ok? would he hear it? you didn't know but you hoped it was loud enough. you heard movement inside the apartment. you looked down wondering if jeans and a top was appropriate. he said to dress in casual, comfortable clothes but was this too casual? you were more nervous for this date than you had ever been before. you had dated guys, but Parrish was definitely the oldest and you hoped you were mature enough for him. the last thing you wanted was for him to feel like he was babysitting. he opened the door, smiling at you. he welcomed you inside and you timidly followed. glancing at the rooms you passed through until you reached the dining room. he had a nice table cloth and a candle set out. you looked down at your outfit again, more convinced that it wasn't smart enough. he seemed to sense this.

"you look great." you thanked him and sat down as he got the food.

"I present to you: chicken wrapped in bacon, stuffed with mozzarella cheese, with a side of potatoes."

"it looks great. did you make it?" you said. he laughed.

"no, but i did also think it looked great when i bought it." he replied, you laughed too and started talking about cooking. he said that he was never very good at cooking 'impressive' food so, in order to please you he bought food from the local shop. you told him you didn't mind, after all food was food.

you spent hours talking and laughing.  then you looked down at your watch.

"oh no! i was meant to be home an hour and a half ago!" you said.

"you could always stay over, i'll sleep on the sofa." you agreed to stay over but refused to make him sleep on the sofa. you eventually gave in and took the bed.

"you know i don't mind if you take the bed."

"we've already been through this, you're the guest y/n. you have the bed."

"that's not what i meant." he turned to you as you patted the spot next to you. he cautiously made his way over, not wanting to seem too bold. he lay down next to you awkwardly. " i promise i don't bite." you joked. he chuckled, getting comfy on his side of the bed.

"i'd say it was a pretty successful first date, seeing as we're sleeping together." he teased. you playfully smacked his arm. he faked being hurt which made you giggle.

"I'm sorry Mr deputy policeman did that hurt?" you mocked, earning a poke in the shoulder from him. you two were silent for a while. thinking you had gone to sleep he confessed.

"i really like you y/n. i had a great time" you rolled over into his arms.

"it was great and i really like you too." you replied, snuggling closer into his chest.
