He woke before you, but stayed still, not wanting to disturb you. Even though the sun was shining, your skin still glowed and the patterns were now a more prominent bronze colour. You brought your hand up to pull the sheets closer which is when he noticed all the bracelets you had on. They had some sort of peculiar language engraved into them.
You shuffled around, but when you rolled over you felt someone's breath on your face. You jumped back, realising where you were. The boy, Liam, held his hands up, signalling that he wasn't going to hurt you.
"Good morning" you spoke, stepping out of bed. You tiptoed over to the window, pushing it open. You breathed in, scanning the foreign horizon. You had never travelled far from home, it was something elves were only allowed to do once they were older, so this was very exciting.
"Good morning." He replied, sitting up and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"What are those bracelets? You never seem to take them off."
"They are a gift you receive from the elders at birth. One for every trait they choose for you to have. It's said that they don't exactly choose, but something stronger does, more like your destiny is being decided." You touched the first one.
"this one means 'brave', its one almost everyone in my family owns." He nodded, urging you to continue.
"The second is 'adventurous'. I guess that's obvious seeing as I desperately want to explore this new world. The third is 'helpful'. I was too young to officially work so I always enjoyed helping the others. Especially my parents; they work so hard for us."You paused for a minute, remembering them.
"I lived with my 3 brothers and 2 sisters, my parents of course and my granddad. He's too old to live on his own, so he has lived with us for the past 5 years."
"What about the other two?" Liam questioned.
"The fourth is 'imaginative'. I was always a dreamer, coming up with crazy stories which I read to my younger siblings before bed. They loved it. The last one is 'passionate'. Whatever I do I put my heart and soul into it. Although it can sometimes be a bad thing. "
With your dress no longer there, Liam snuck into his mother's room and grabbed a pair of old leggings, allowing you to keep his top on.He never told his parents you were there. He didn't know how to explain why you stayed in his bed without going into detail about the supernatural world. With no other choice he took you to Deaton's, thinking that it would be the best option for both of you.
"What do we have here?" the man you assumed was Deaton asked you. Circling around the table you were sat on.
"Y/n's and she's an elf." Liam said for you, holding your hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"Fascinating. How did you get here?" he questioned, finally coming to rest in front of you.
"She doesn't know" Liam answered again. Deaton shot him a look that said 'stop speaking for her' and continued with questions until you had told him everything. The whole time Liam sat next to you, hanging off every word. They chose to call the pack and held an emergency pack meeting at a guy named Derek's home.
You were the centre of attention, all eyes on you. Everything was going well until Derek wanted to see the pattern on your skin. He reached out to move your hair, but his arms was shoved away. The whole pack looked up in shock as Liam pulled you close to him, growling. You could see a wild look in his eyes so you rested your hand on his cheek, turning his face so he would look at you. He turned back to normal, panting slightly.
"What was that?" he said, catching his breath. Scott stood up, patting Liam on the shoulder and indicating for you both to sit. He explained how werewolves have an anchor, something which keeps them human, but can also be the reason they turn, depending on the circumstances. You couldn't believe what you were hearing; you only just met Liam, you only just arrived on earth!
You all agreed it wold be best for you to stay at one of the member of the packs house, in order for you to keep the supernatural world hidden from mortals. Clearly they meant Liam's. This meant you were left for hours at a time when he was at school. So you read. You focused your attention specifically on fairy tales, surprised at how much these humans knew about elves.
"That's a good one." Liam stated, pointing to the book in your hands. You heard two pairs of feet enter instead of the usual one pair.
"Yeah. It's actually quite accurate." Your eyes landed on a boy around Liam's age.
"Wow. She's an elf. An actual elf." He exclaimed, staring at you. You could sense his amazement and curiosity.
"Yes. Sorry. This is mason, he's new to all of this." He gestured for the two of you to follow him from the living room to his bedroom. They played 'games' for what seemed like hours whilst you watched them. You felt happy, sensing their entertainment and joy. You couldn't help but admire Liam as he smiled. In your eyes he was extraordinary. You were aware of the attachment between you two, as if it was in your DNA. After a while mason left and you joined Liam on the floor, surprising him.
"Honestly you're so quiet, I couldn't even hear you with my wolf senses." He said, wrapping his arm around you. You welcomed the action, resting against him. He felt his inner wolf surface.
"Sorry..." he apologised, closing his eyes.
"Don't be" you whispered. "Your eyes are the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Both colours." You rested your forehead against his, compelling him to open his eyes. It was as if you could see straight into his soul. He leant in, his lips brushing yours.
"Wow" he breathed. You were confused, until you caught your reflection in his mirror.
Your eyes were no longer their normal colour, instead they were magnificent green, and more vivid than any you had ever laid eyes on. Every now and then silver speckles shone through, as if lightning was striking in your irises. You had never seen your eyes like this, knowing it should take years of practice to get the colour to show, each elves eyes being different.
He didn't hesitate to pull you closer, kissing you lovingly on the lips. You could feel the air around you change like it was livelier. You broke the kiss, the power surrounding you too much to handle.
"I really like you Liam." You confessed, knowing his your feelings were reciprocated.
"Did you feel that?" he laughed, examining the room. You nodded, blushing. You understood that your powers were off because of your connection with Liam. That's when you both realised, he also made you lose control.
