When the bright light died down you couldn't see anything, the sudden change in intensity made everything darker that it would have been. You reached out, hoping that you would still be in the study at your house. Then you remembered Liam, He had gone through with her.
Your hands made contact with a surface you had become familiar with. You were back in the chasm in the cave. Your eyesight had returned to normal, making you wonder how you were in here. Alone.
The elf and Liam were definitely not down here with you, so where were they? You didn't know if she had come back to the cave, or gone somewhere else. Either way, you hoped Liam was safe.
He retracted his claws and teeth when he had lost contact with the elf, the light now too much to bear. He stumbled around for a while, trying to feel anything around him. But he couldn't. It was like he was in mid-air, floating around. Then everything happened at once. The bright light gradually faded, giving him time to adjust. But The ground suddenly became uneven. There was a strange smell, like magic. Where ever he was he wasn't home. Faintly, he heard a heartbeat. This was normal, wherever he was he could usually hear a heartbeat. But it was like this sound was wired into his brain. It was y/n. the real y/n.
You called out, hoping anyone would hear you, even if it was her. You needed answers. You needed this to end.
He heard your voice and headed towards it, ignoring everything else and focusing on the one thing that mattered. He came into a large open cave, a rope in the centre, circling a huge hole. He cautiously made his way over to it. He was sure she was in there, but didn't want to fall in himself.
You saw a shadow approaching the edge of the chasm.
"Hey, you elf bitch." You shouted, even though you were an elf.
"y/n!" Liam shouted from the top, almost falling in, not believing it was you.
"Liam!" you shouted back, confused as to how he ended up there and where the elf was.
"Hold on, I'll get you out of there." He responded, leaving the edge of the chasm to find something to pull you up.
He never realised until now how much stuff surrounded him. All of it useless. He panicked, not wanting to leave you down there. It was his duty to help. He needed you back in his arms.
You waited patiently, pacing back and forth in the hole. He appeared not long later.
"There isn't anything to use!" he cried. You could sense the distress inside him, causing his wolf to show.
"Liam calm down!" you tried to soothe him, even from where you were stood you could see his nails digging into his palm. He visibly relaxed after hearing you.
"Why don't you use the rope?" you asked, the idea suddenly hitting you. When you were kept down here you often thought about someone finding you and using the rope.
You watched him disappear again, leaving you in suspense. You turned around and finally saw the mirror. It glowed, like it had when you first walked through it, only now it was brighter. That's how you were able to see Liam in such detail.
he grabbed the rope, following it to see where it came from. He found the end but it was attached to a metal loop which was buried in the rock. He pulled on it, yet nothing happened. He used all of his werewolf strength and suddenly the loop sprang out, the rope now free, although the loop was attached to the end of the rope still. He followed it around to the end, every few feet there would be a wooded post and another loop. Each time Liam would break it and carry on, the loop and a bit of wood attached. He finally finished, hoping that it would be long enough. He called out to you, wanting you to watch out as he threw it down.
You stood out of the way as it hit the floor.
"It's long enough" you shouted up happily, walking over to it.
"Hold on, don't come up, ill attach it to something first." He called down.
He gave you the thumbs up once he had tied it around a rock. You easily climbed it, the loops creating steps for you to put your feet in. you reached the top, greeted by Liam's arms squeezing you against him.
"I'm so so sorry." He cried into your shoulder.
"It's ok." You soothed, your hands running through his hair then playing with it.
He pulled back to kiss you, making you realise just how much you had missed his touch.
"It's not okay. I swear ill make it up to you y/n." he promised, even though you didn't need him to. He meant so much to you and you were just happy to be back. It wasn't his fault he was manipulated.
"Aww how sweet." A sickly voice said from behind you. You held onto each other tighter, but turned to see who it was. The elf was stood in front of you.
"This ends. Now." You hissed, more confidence in you now Liam was here.
"Yes, you're right. Its time you left." For a second you thought she was going to let you walk out, but then she lunged forward, a knife in her hands. Liam shoved you out of the way, falling on top of you in the process. You both scrambled up.
"Well aren't you a pain." She said to Liam, using her elf powers to throw him to the other side of the room. Now it was your turn to attack, you grabbed the hand with the knife in it, turning it towards her.
