Chapter 38 - Island

Amanda's POV

The clicking noise from the keyboards we've been tapping with constantly is the only thing that can be heard in the four corners of this room. I'm now with Matteo in the Quarters computer room, working together to send back up online to Milady and the other commanders with her. He's supposed to be with them but those three are enough to assist Milady in that party.

After the sudden attack, although we have foreseen this, both of us who are assigned keep eyeing the enemy's next move. Matteo takes the location, hacking the system connecting to the cameras inside the hotel while monitoring the blueprint of the building, while I assist him with tracking and finding the identity of the enemies, as well as I communicate with Ella and the Twins while Matt helps Milady. He focused on giving her directions, assisting entirely until he got her to where he was located.

There was a large explosion in the room where Milady entered a while ago. I badly want to know what's going on inside but it seems the enemy has dominated that area since we can't access any camera. After that, I saw Markian hurriedly open the door to check on Milady. I see that he's done taking down the enemies who blocked their way a while ago. These gangs are so persistent that they keep showing up one after another. It didn't take long before I saw him walking out through that door with Milady.

"Tsk. Let's go." Milady spoke in a more colder tone. Hearing her say those words like that means bad news. I eyed Matt and he nodded his head agreeing with me and that he understood the situation. This means Milady failed to get him.

I didn't know what exactly happened after she entered that room. Since we can't check and connect with her after she steps in that area. Mikael informed me that he's done dealing with the enemies he faced off with outside, many of those killed are snipers like him, who attacked in the distance, and now he's headed towards Milady's location.

"Ella, what's your status?" I asked her in the line while checking the other footage on the screen near the area where she parked. Making sure none of the opponents are hiding to assassinate.

She then responded, sounding unclear. "It's ready."

I almost rolled my eyes when I heard her smack her lips, gosh this woman. She's applying lipstick in this situation. I moved my swivel chair to the other monitor, staring at the screens from the cameras following the movement of Milady and Markian who's with her.

"Queen, the car's ready," I spoke to her while eyeing the screen, she didn't stop walking and continued her way.

"She's wounded!" Markian mouthed those words while eyeing the nearest camera, he knows I've been following them. He's also being careful so Milady won't see him notifying me. He was walking behind her. He then lifted one of his hands and pointed to his stomach. That's the time I got what he meant to say. Due to the smoke, I can't see him well, especially when he says something.

"What?" I blurted out. Good thing I was able to turn off my line when I said that.

I didn't notice that since she walked like nothing was going on with her, and the color of the dress she was wearing hid the blood. Her face was blank, she didn't show any sign of being in pain at all. But I know any time from now she's gonna collapse on the ground.

"Mikael, use the fire exit near you. After that, turn to the right corner and you'll meet them there." I heard Matt speak for instructions to Mikael.

"Alright, copy that!" Mikael replied with his heavy breathing so apparent. I eyed the screen that showed the footage of Mikael running along the hallway while carrying his rifle.

I continued carefully eyeing the monitors, from the footage of Mikael to where Milady was. There have been no enemies at all that have attacked them as they walk towards the parking lot where Ella awaits. I checked the camera outside the hotel, near the main entrance, and saw from afar a couple of fire trucks heading their way to aid the fire. It must have been visible to the public, those explosions surely caused severe damage to the overall structure of this grand hotel.
