Once, I'm a safe distance from the two guards I let go of the veil ability. I relax. I calm myself.

Well, that is until I feel a hand clasp around my mouth, taking me totally unaware. What was going on? I attempt to fight back hitting blows in random directions, hoping I'll hit my attacker.

One of my blows hits them, and I hear them grunt, before they finally say "God, I didn't realize you could hit that hard, enforcer"

It was Makoto? He was an ordinary though... how was he invisible? I try sensing for a veil ability, other than that of the guard whose ability was getting fainter by the second, but to my surprise I find nothing. Nothing at all, how was he invisible? What was going on?

"Wow, I never thought I'd see you surprised, I'll explain soon, but first-"

"Paedyn, where is she?" My heart stopped for a second, was she okay? Did anything happen to her? God, I'd never forgive myself if something happened to her.

"I'll take you to her, just follow me, she's safe" and with that he stops using his ability, so that he's visible to me, and he leads me to another area in Loot, and a house there. The first thing I notice is the amount of blacksmith tools there, and weapons... those could be useful if required.

Then, I see her. Paedyn, she's sitting on a couch in the house. My pretty Pae. She's a miracle. My miracle. God, I don't know what I'd do if she got hurt.

"Welcome to... my humble abode, make yourself at home here until we come up with a... plan" Makoto mumbles, before turning to leave to a different room.

I stop him half-way through though, he still hadn't explained how he had turned invisible...

"How did you do that...back there, earlier, when you turned invisible, how did you use a veil ability? I can't sense any ability coming from you."

Mak sighed, Paedyn just stared, watching for my reaction, it seems Makoto already told her. The room seemed tense, what was he going to tell me? There wasn't much that could possibly shock me further.

"I'm like you, Kai. I'm a wielder"

My mouth fell open. How wrong I had been. Firstly, he addressed me by my name. Secondly, what did he just say? My first instinct is to believe that he's lying, but I know better than to think that. He was telling the truth, nothing else made sense.

I'm not the only one.

There's someone like me. Another wielder.

A small smile forms on my face, someone like me, someone who could sense powers and use them.

I feel a small hand rest on my shoulder, in reassurance and comfort. It was Pae's hand, she had managed to stand beside me without me realizing in my shocked state, "Are you okay, Kai? I know this is a lot to taken in, especially after... everything" she whispers closely to my ear, so only I can hear her. I nod slowly, as she takes my hand and squeezes it slightly to let me know she was there if I needed her.

"I... I know it's crazy, I know you might not believe me... but it's true. I can't sense any power coming from you either... I understand if you don't trust me, especially after the events of today." Makoto said while looking down at the floor.

As his words sink in, I can feel my mask slipping off. I couldn't let it. I wouldn't let it.

"I need some fresh air" I announce to no one in particular and make my way to the door.

"Kai... it's dangerous you're a criminal along with us two now, you technically committed treason against the King" Makoto says cautiously, he didn't want to piss me off even more, which I appreciated, but I still wince at the words. Especially the last one 'King', he's my brother, not just the King, but people seem to forget that. Hell, I seem to forget it sometimes. He changed when he became King, and I don't know how to feel about it... so I don't, I block the thoughts out of my head, or at least I try to. But I can't. Not anymore. I can feel myself breaking. I can feel myself shattering. I can feel myself cracking. I can't do this anymore. My mask is threatening to fall, and I refuse to let it in front of anyone.
