My frustration from everything is the only thing fueling my steps as I trudge through the sand of the horrid desert. The sand has found its way inside my boots within seconds, making the journey even more uncomfortable than it already was, which I didn't think possible. But then what did I expect? I'd already been here before, multiple times. I guess it's different when you're not travelling with horses and soldiers, it's much more difficult.

I still wonder how Paedyn managed to travel all the way from here to Dor on her own, with no map at all without dying. She really is spectacular. No. I push the thought out of my head, I'm angry at her, she lost my trust, she broke my trust, and worst of all she broke my heart. She was going to reply to me after I poured my heart out to her, but then Mak interrupted her. Probably for the better, I don't know whether I'd be able to resist any more of her devilish tricks again. Worse, I don't know whether I'd be able to survive any more of them.

I don't think I should be worrying about her killing me though, the scorches might kill me before she does at this rate. I'm parched. I'm tired. I'm exhausted. I can feel myself shattering. I don't know why this is happening now, it never happened when I went here before. Why did I only feel like collapsing right now? At the rate we're travelling at right now it'll take around a week to make it to Dor, assuming death doesn't come to claim us before that.

I look to my sides to see how Mak and Paedyn are holding up, both of them look just as tired as I do, we all need rest and desperately.

"Break...we should take a break."

The words barely manage to escape my mouth, with sand blowing into my mouth as soon as its open, my words are barely audible to them, but they seem to understand. Mak nods in agreement, but Paedyn seems more resistant. Such a stubborn thing she is.

"Nighttime, it'll be colder, we should rest then, no one will see us then either."

I'm about to shake my head and tell her all the reasons we don't need to do that when I'm interrupted my Makoto, "Pae, you're not on your own this time, we can fight against any threats that come our way together."

She still seems annoyed and skeptical about the idea, but she ends up agreeing reluctantly. We all rest our sore legs briefly, and Mak rummages through his backpack, considering he was the only one who knew we were going to have such a long journey he was the only one who was properly prepared. He passed us our rations of food and warm water.

After a few minutes, we all got back on our feet, having rested or legs, continuing our journey through the depths of the sandy land.
