Kai pushed both me and Makoto behind a stack of crates in the room. I nearly let out a scream at the roughness with which he pushed the two of us.
I scrambled back up on to my feet, with the crates barely covering both me and Makoto.
What do we do? What do I do? What's going on?
I try to peak through the holes between the crates, I can't see anything except Kai's back though. Finally, I hear a man's voice, asking if Kai was okay. At that moment I know that we're going to be found out if we don't do something and quick.
I turn towards Makoto, only to find that he was gone.
What the Hell?
He can't have disappeared. He was right here. He can't have escaped, otherwise one of the guards would've seen him exit.
Suddenly I feel a hand on mouth, I gasp, what was happening?
"Shhh... It's me Makoto, just hold on to my hand, it'll turn you invisible as well, I'll explain later... please, we have to escape now, or they'll see us."
I'm at loss for words, what in the world was going on. Kai had said he was an ordinary, like me. I assumed that he was right and didn't question him at all. But here he was invisible, he's a veil, but how could Kai not sense his power? Was he a dual elemental with some ability that could hide his other ability? So many questions swarmed my head, but I couldn't ponder on any of them for more than five seconds, before Makoto pulled my arm dragging me towards the door, till my feet finally start functioning properly and I follow him.
