"I... I don't know... concentration hi nahi ban rahi hai... kuch bhi yaad karti hoon toh bhool jaati hoon... ya blank ho jaati hoon... darr lagta hai ab jab books kholti hoon... a... aisa pehle kabhi nahi hua... mujhe toh padhna bohot achha lagta tha..." Himani choked on her words, her eyes welling up.
Sumedh's concern deepened. "Aaj doctor se kyu nahi kaha? Maybe it's just because of pregnancy... Kal ek baar aur mil aayenge."
"Pregnancy mein aisa bhi hota hai? I... don't want to be pregnant then..." She said in the same tone, her voice breaking.
"Don't say that," Sumedh replied softly. "We'll meet the doctor again, koi na koi medicine de degi, phir se padhai mein maan lag jayega."
Himani shook her head slightly, feeling lost. "Aur agar tab bhi theek na ho paaya toh? Main theek se padhai na kar paayi toh... I... I can't do this. College chhod doon kya?"
Sumedh placed a hand on her shoulder, his tone calm yet reassuring. "Hey, don't be negative. Koi na koi rasta nikal hi lenge. Agar bohot jyada stress ho raha hai, toh kuch din ka break le lo, rest karna hoga. Aur mujhe lagta hai ki yeh sab pregnancy ke hormones ki wajah se ho raha hai. Everything will be fine soon, trust me."
Himani's eyes welled with tears as she sobbed. "Mujhe... mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai..."
"Are," he said softly, placing the plate aside. After a moment of hesitation, he pulled her into a hug, gently patting her back. "Don't worry... sab theek ho jayega, give it some time."
"I... I feel like I'm going crazy... sometimes I get angry, sometimes I just want to cry... there are all these strange feelings... I'm... I'm so confused," she sobbed, her voice trembling.
He continued caressing her back, his voice soft but firm. "Sab theek ho jayega... main hoon na, tumhare saath hoon. Help karne ke liye."
"M... main bohot tang kar rahi hoon na aapko? Aapko bhi lagta hoga ki kiske saath phas gaya?" she asked innocently after a few minutes of silence.
"Not at all... mujhe toh acha lag raha hai, tumhe is tarah se care karna... tumhari complaints sunna, tumhara gussa, tumhara rona sab." He chuckled, resting his head gently on top of hers.
"Mann rakhne ke liye bol rahe ho na?" She smiled lightly, but her voice was still uncertain. "I'm sorry... main aapko pareshan nahi karna chahti, par... I am not able to control this... mujhe khud samajh nahi aa raha ki kya ho raha hai."
"Nahi, main mann rakhne ke liye nahi bol raha," he said, his tone sincere. "I mean it."
"Aap itne understanding kaise ho?" She looked up at him, her eyes filled with disbelief. "Maine aise baat ki aapse... gussa nahi aaya aapko?"
He smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Main samajhta hoon... tumhare emotions, tumhara confusion... Haan, bura laga tha thoda sa... but then I realized that you were right... tumhari galati nahi thi," he said, his voice soft but honest."But mujhe bhi dhyaan rakhna chahiye tha... you were also right," he added, looking at her with a gentle expression.
"Par... agar main next time aise baat karun to daant dena," she said, a playful yet sincere tone in her voice.
"Nahi," he smiled slightly, shaking his head. "Ghar par tum meri wife ho... and you have full right to complain."
"Par aise to baat nahi kar sakti na... that's wrong," she said, her voice a little unsure. "Main aise baat nahi karna chahti, par pata nahi kya hota hai, achanak irritation aur gussa sa aata hai. I don't even know why... isliye aap tok dena jab mujhe na pata chale... please."
