Himani stayed in his embrace, her voice soft and curious as she asked, "Aaj isiliye itna gussa kar rhe the na class mein? Bura laga tha na aapko kal?" She tilted her head slightly, her cheek brushing against his chest.
Sumedh chuckled lightly, shaking his head as he replied, "Are nahi nahi... tumhari baat par gussa hota to unko itna punish kyun karta? Tumhe karta na." There was a playful tone in his voice as he giggled. "They're at fault. Tumhe kya lag rha hai? Wapas jayungga to kya punishment continue nahi karunga unki?" His eyebrow arched in mock seriousness.
Himani pulled back slightly to look at him, her lips curving into a faint smile. "Itni zyada punishment to aap tabhi dete ho jab aapka mood off hota hai," she said, her tone half-teasing but with a hint of truth.
Sumedh smirked, running a hand through his hair as he replied, "Do mahine se sirf warning de raha tha unko... ki padh lo, padh lo. Lekin agar sirf baaton se sudharna hota, to kya hi baat thi." His voice carried a blend of firmness and resignation, as though he had been holding back for far too long.
He paused, then added with a gentle smile, "Aur haan, mood off tha... but I've learned to keep personal and teaching life separate."
Himani looked at him, her expression soft but thoughtful. "To fir mujhpe itna gussa kyu kiya?" she asked, her voice carrying a cute innocence, her eyes wide as she tilted her head slightly.
Sumedh sighed, his tone calm but firm as he replied, "Maine toh already warning de di thi sabko ki jo bhi meri baat nahi manega, woh bhi unhe join karenge... And still, tumne kaha ki main nahi marungi. Ab agar main tumhe kuch nahi bolta, toh sabhi bolte—'Achha, biwi ke liye alag rules.' Samjho meri situation, Himani."
Himani pouted slightly, her voice dropping as she said, "Par mujhse nahi ho raha tha unhe maarna. Bura lag raha tha. Aapki baat toh alag hai... aap teacher ho. Wo log kaam na karke aapki mehnat kharab karte hain, aur unhe sahi raste laana bhi aapka kaam hai. Lekin humara kya bigaada unhone? Aapka toh haq hai, lekin mujhse nahi ho raha tha. Sorry agar aapko bura laga ho."
Sumedh listened, his eyes softening as her words sank in. After a pause, he gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "Kaise kuch nahi bigaada unn logo ne tum sab ka?" he began, his tone earnest. "Agar woh theek se padhte, toh mera utna time un teenon par waste nahi hota. Woh time main tum logo ko de pata, new topic start karwa pata. Tum logo ki hi productivity badhti usse. Toh batao, un teenon ke na padhne se nuksaan kya tum logo ka bhi nahi ho raha?"
Himani blinked, his words making her rethink. She bit her lip and nodded slightly, acknowledging his perspective. "Aap sahi keh rahe ho... maine is angle se nahi socha tha," she admitted softly.
"Abse mujhe mat bolna kisi ko punishment dene," Himani huffed, puffing her cheeks in frustration. "Unhe punishment dene ki jagah khud leke baith jaati hoon."
Sumedh chuckled at her adorable annoyance, shaking his head lightly. Before he could say anything, she broke the hug and looked up at him with a sudden sparkle in her eyes. "Suniye... mujhe ice cream khane ka mann kar raha hai," she said, her voice soft yet excited.
He glanced at his watch, quickly calculating the time. "Umm... ruko, phir ek aur substitute teacher ke liye baat karta hoon," he said, reaching for his phone.
Himani caught his hand gently, stopping him. "Late ho rahe hain hum? Phir rehne dete hain, baad mein kha lenge," she said, her tone calm and considerate as she smiled softly.
Sumedh paused for a moment, then asked, "Lunch break mein?"
"Ji, theek hai," she nodded, her smile widening, clearly content with the plan.
