Jade's POV
I woke up to the scent of fresh flowers. I inhaled sharply and feel the warmth of the comforter covering me. I was disappointed to not see Althea beside me but the flowers were really looking good. I read the card inserted at the bouquet.
"Good morning! Here's to our first day as a couple. Come and join me at breakfast. I'll be waiting for you. Love you! -A"
How sweet could she get? Althea's quite the definition of romantic. She could easily make my heart jump in just a second. Ang aga-aga pa pero kinikilig na'ko sakanya.
I went to the bathroom at inayos ang sarili ko. I can't help but to smile while looking at myself at this huge bathroom. Gulong-gulo yung buhok ko na para bang hindi ako nagsusuklay at sobrang lalim na ng eyebags ko. Pero kahit ganon, the feeling's very different today. I was still looking at the mirror while remembering yesterday's happenings.
"Lubb?" I said while blushing.
Dumiretso na ako sa baba at doon ko naabutan si Althea na nagluluto. She's wearing her typical tank top and shorts. Naka-apron din siya habang nagluluto.
Ohmygoodness.
Am I really the girlfriend of this woman?
Nagtago muna ako saglit para panuorin siya sa ginagawa niya. She works gracefully at the kitchen na para bang alam na alam niya yung ginagawa niya. I stared at her while she tries to flip the pancakes. I swear, I could do this all day. Naputol namang bigla yung panunuod ko nang mapansin niya ako.
Dali-dali ko namang inayos ang sarili ko at lumapit sakanya, pretending that I didn't watch her.
"Breakfast?" She smiled while she was holding tha pan at her right and the plate at her left.
Seriously? Is she offering herself or the pancake? 'Coz I'll seriously take them both.
"Good morning!" I greeted her.
"Morning! I prepared our breakfast. Tara dito." Binaba niya yung mga hawak niya at hinila ang upuan para makaupo ako. I've always pictured her like this. Like a caring and sweet girlfriend.
Inilagay niya sa harap ko yung plate with pancakes, strawberries and syrup. Meron din siyang nilutong bacon and eggs at may hinanda pa siyang orange juice. Umupo na siya at nagstart na kaming kumain.
"How's your sleep?" She asked me.
"Fine. Better, I guess." I smiled at her.
"Good. May gusto ka bang gawin today? It's kinda not good to celebrate our first day outside. Paulan na kasi." She said as we looked at the dark skies.
"Okay. Uhm, what do you suggest?" I asked her.
"I have here a movie with me." She smiled.
"Parang wala akong mood sa movies eh." I sighed.
"Ganoon ba? Ano nalang sasabihin ni Noah and Allie dahil sa pagtanggi mo sakanila?" She said while showing me my favorite movie. Shit. How did she know?!
"Come join me if gusto mo na manuod, okay? I'll be at our room." She said while smiling as she got up and went upstairs.
I've never declined watching my favorite movie kaya nagmadali narin akong dumiretso sa room. I saw her lying at the bed with a comforter covering her. Lumapit ako sakanya and I lied beside her and hugged her.
"Manunuod ka rin naman pala eh." Sabi niya.
"I can't stand those lovebirds eh." I said as we started watching.
Mas mababa onti yung higa ko kaya I was able to lean on her.
So, it's not gonna be easy.
It's gonna be really hard.
We've gonna have to work at this every day,
but I want to do that because I want you.
I want all of you,
Forever.
Nagising nalang ako when Althea kissed me on my forehead.
"Nakatulog ka lablab." She told me habang kinukumutan niya ako.
"Lubb, don't ever leave me, okay?" I said as I hold her hand.
"What makes you think na iiwan kita?" She said.
"With this kind of set-up, many possibilities might happen. I don't wanna lose you, Althea." I told her.
"You're not. Hindi ako aalis, okay? Sleep. I'll just wake you up later." She said while scratching my head.
"But lubb, I--"
"Jade, I promise to not leave you, if that's what you want to hear from me. Staying may seem to be the hardest thing to do, but I promise to be with you every step of the way. Always remember that I love you. That's all that matters now. Sleep now, dear Jade." She said while planting a kiss on my cheek.
Althea woke me up to have lunch with her. After eating, we continued enjoying each other's company. We talked about many things: our lives, hobbies, things we like and others. And there I realized how inlove I am with her.
"What are you staring at?" Althea asked while she was playing with my hand.
"Lubb, what do you think would happen next kung hindi natin nakilala ang isa't-isa?" I questioned.
"Siguro I'll still be miserable. Nagkukulong parin siguro ako dito sa condo ko. Meeting you was a blessing, Jade. You were destined to be my pill." She kissed my palm.
"Ako, siguro nagmumukmok parin dahil sa panloloko sa akin ni David." I admitted.
"The past doesn't matter anymore. It's now you, who for me, matters most. You're every reason and hope that I've ever had. Kaya naman you are everything to me. I love you, Jade, at hindi ako magsasawang sabihin yun sa'yo." She said.
"Alam mo, nawiwili ka na dyan sa pagddeclare mo ng love sa'kin." I smiled at her.
"I just want you to always remember how much I love you. Yun na yon. Problems may come on our way, but remember that I'll forever hold your hand until we finish all those things, until we finish the fight." She said.
"Kaya lalo akong nahuhulog sa'yo eh. Ang ganda na nga, ang talino pa! Wala na'kong mahihiling pa. Ikaw na ang the best girlfriend!" I teased her.
"Dapat lang! Ako lang naman girlfriend mo dito eh!" We both laughed.
Batchi calling...
"Wala naman. Nasa bahay lang. Osige, we'll meet you there." Althea hung up the phone.
"Lubb, ano daw yun?" I asked her.
"Okay lang ba kung pumunta tayo sa bar ulit? Nagyayaya sina Batchi eh. Celebrate daw tayo." She said.
"It's fine with me." I said.
"Okay, magbihis ka na. Pumunta muna tayo RK then diretso na tayo doon." She said.
Our first day seem to went well, don't you think?
