Quill's Broken Translator

QUILL POV:

I sat at the table messing with my Walkman.

"Another half hour and we should make it to earth" said Yondu as he entered the room.

"Okay, maybe I can get this thing fixed when I get there" I said.

"Or you could upgrade to something more modern" said Yondu.

"Ya but my mom gave this to me. I hope it's still fixable" I said.

"Well what's wrong with it" asked Yondu as he sat at the table.

"It's still playing music but it's weird gibberish. Listen" I said.

I gave Yondu the headphones and he put them on. I started to play some music and Yondu listened to it.

"Sounds like the same old Earth sounds to me" said Yondu.

He took the headset off and gave it to me. I put it on and listened.

"Come and get your love" played from the speaker.

"It might just be the tape. I inspected everything so far" I said.

"Well maybe that Iron Guy or whoever can have a look at it when we get to Terra" said Yondu.

I shut my Walkman off. I took the tape out and put it in my stereo in the ship. I started to play it but it's just gibberish. Maybe it is the tape. Which it's good it's not my Walkman but why the tape?

We made it to Terra and landed at the Avengers base. After Thanos we have to report to Earth once a year and keep them updated on space.

"Well, if it isn't the space Avengers" said Stark.

I was confused. I don't know what he said.

"Ya, we're back. Now where is the duck tape I was promised" said Rocket.

"Inside, we also have spare guest rooms if you want to stay for a few nights" said Steve.

"I can stay for a few nights. I've been interested in trying Lazer tag with Quill. He says he's a pro" said Gamora.

I have no idea what anyone is saying.

"Well our Peter also likes Lazer tag. Maybe he can join you after school. He's been wanting to meet Quill since you both have the same name" said Tony.

"How popular is the name Peter" asked Yondu.

"Not much more then every other name. Anyway I can show you where you guys are staying. And we can get some old tech since your Peter is from the 80s if you prefer" said Natasha.

Everyone looked at me.

"Uh, what" I asked.

"Why are you speaking Xandarian? We all agreed to speak English here" said Drax.

"Well, except Groot" said Gamora.

"Okay I thought everyone in America spoke English. Not, what are you even saying" I said.

"I think something is wrong with Quill's translator. Earlier he told me something was wrong with his music box from Earth. The songs are English but I didn't hear anything wrong with it" said Yondu.

"Can you fix it" asked Steve.

"Easy, I just need to remove it from Quill's neck. Got any place for a quick surgery" asked Yondu.

"No need. VISION" Tony yelled and left.

"Where is he going" I asked.

"To find Vision. Now can you understand what I'm saying to you" asked Gamora.

"I can now" I said.

"Sounds like a broken translator to me" said Rocket.

"Then how can I understand all of you" I asked.

"Peter you use alien language everyday but when was the last time you actually used English besides your music" asked Gamora.

She has a point.

"Okay but wouldn't I remember English" I asked.

"Not likely? You were like what, 8 when you left earth" said Rocket.

Yondu chuckled a little.

"What's so funny" I asked.

"Nothing, I just remember this little Terran boy on my ship who was only able to speak English until I gave you a translator. Now you don't even remember English" said Yondu.

"Ya ya, very funny" I said annoyed.
