Y/N pov:
The final dance was currently unfolding, causing the dance floor to overflow with people like your heart was. Your dance with Wednesday made it hard for you to stay true to your decision of letting her go but her focused gaze that she only had when she was analyzing evidence made you think that you may have a chance with her. The fact she came with Tyler rather than Xavier made you believe that you may have a chance. The way she was the one getting closer to you made you want to keep her close, which triggered the itch to appear again- stronger than ever!
But then again, she came with another boy who also has been showing romantic interest in her like Xavier. What if she's making all of us fall in love with her so she can use us easily? That would make sense since she is the type that would fool people one way but at the same time it isn't like her. Shit maybe I'm being fooled-
"Jesus christ your thinking too loud wanna be Ceil Phantomive!" shouts Dimitri in your head as he sips his final mocktail. After the dance with Wednesday he had gone on a non-stop teasing fest. Asking you if Wednesday would be your date to his wedding, would she be his child's aunty, their godparent along with you, would he get a niece or nephew from the two of you for his unborn child, etc. Each time you gave him a thousand years of death with the shadows.
"Shut up D! Now isn't the time for that shit!"
He snickers before chugging the last of his drink. "True. Now tell me, is it common for someone here to smell a fuck ton like forest?"
You turned to him with a lifted eyebrow as you whacked his arm. Making it look like both of you were roughhousing to cover up the conversation. "That blond normie with your sociopathic crush, he smells a lot like the forest. Fresh pine needle and mud. No perfume can mimic the true sent of the forest, much less mud."
"I imagen your asking because no one else smells like that do they?" he nods as he lightly steps on your foot. "No one else, minus of course the guards but yeah. The smell wasn't that strong till he returned from his bathroom break while emo girl left to catch her breath with mermaid chick."
You nodded as you banged your head lightly into his, making him stumble back a bit. "He did take quite a while to get back from the bathroom. Let me guess didn't smell like it? When I was dancing with Wednesday she did smell a bit like blood, but I don't know if it was hers."
"Your eyes were turning red there for a bit, but you stopped yourself. That's impressive. But no he did smell like the bathroom a bit but not much for someone who spent 20 whole fucking minutes there. The smell of woods and blood was on him. But for the two of us to catch the smell vs everyone else here not to that means it was extremely light meaning-"
"Someone knew the smell would attract too much attention so they had to use other extreme smells to hide it." You both said at the same time.
You looked at Tyler who was awkwardly dancing with Wednesday. Looking at his outfit he was wearing a tall collared white button-up with the top buttons closed off tightly. So tight that it was clear he wasn't comfortable. Could it be?
Tyler? The sheriff's son? It wouldn't make sense yet at the same time yes since his father hated outcasts. Just like Xavier he too was obsessed with Wednesday to a degree. The smell of blood on Wednesday and the smell blood on Tyler along with a strong scent of woods? Clearly, something odd was happening. But what was it?
Suddenly, from the corner of your eye you saw the mayor's son rush out of the dance as if the devil was on his heels. Snapping your fingers, one of your friends followed him, you already knew about the prank he wanted to do. Normally, you would stop him but the brat needed something that allowed you to put him and his friends in their place. Getting up, you told Dimitri it was time to leave.
