Warning body horror
Wednesday pov:
After 10 whole minutes of her getting off and 20 minutes of her catching her breath and whatever was left of her pride at the moment, Wednesday threw you over her shoulders and shuffled out of the morgue. As Atredis picked up Thing who was still unconscious by the slap the very crow had delivered. His digits were red like her face, clearly he was going to bruise and was going to throw a fit to Enid tomorrow about what happened. Well more like lie about what happened since she had threatened to lock him in her desk if he ever mentioned to anyone the impact you had on her.
With what had happened today, that threat would be even more emplaced than ever.
She doesn't know what Atredis did but the moment she grabbed you the building's lights began flickering. Luckily the garage door was mimicking the lights turning on and off pattern but by opening up and closing. Yet did it in a much slower pace that allowed all of you to get out.
Times like this she wished the Frankenstein-looking butler of her family was here. But at last, she had no choice but to walk all the way back to Nevermore. Letting your legs drag and skin the knitting of your sneakers. With a grumble she accepted her faith as she took out her pigtails to use the hairties to tie your arms together to keep your hands around her neck. It's the least I can do after everything she had done for me.
With that the Gothic girl headed down the street towards downtown of Jericho. One hand kept her tied arms in front of her chest while the other gripped the now reloaded gun in case the monster decided to make an appearance. She would protect you like you protected her thus far.
For the first time in a long time, Wednesday had complete silence in her life, not even the echo of her heels through the shallow streets. Although it was silent she wasn't alone, she had you, Thing, Atredis, and an unknown figure on top of one of the buildings watching her like a hawk.
If it weren't for worrying's teeth sinking into her brain and heart she would've realized the yellow predator eyes that dreamed of tearing her part. Only Atredis knew but the demonic crow chose to keep his head down for he valued his life more than seeing you and Wednesday together or protecting the human girl from a certain individual.
The yellow cat-like eyes watched her till she disappeared deeper into the city.
"Is there a way you can contact one of her men?" she asked Atredis who flew slightly ahead to look out for any witnesses. The crow shook his head yes and swung down to leave a slowly becoming conscious Thing before flying away to contact your team.
"You took your time to wake up" spat Wednesday without glazing at the stitched hand now on her shoulder. Honestly, she was impressed that Atredis didn't drop Thing on your head that was resting on her other shoulder. It would be very in character of him. "Not a single word of what happened at the morgue or else I break every bone in your tiny miserable body of yours and let your skin dry out in the sun before I lock you till the end of the year in the desk."
Thing jumped up and swore not to disobey his master. Before he could give her a full-blown snapping speech on how he wouldn't dare the sound of a car was heard.
Immediately, the goth bolted into a random alley way and hid against garbage container. Due to how empty the town was, the car sounded louder than it was and only got louder as it got closer to where she hid both of you. Not only that the car sounded like it was going slower.
Is it the sheriff? Or it is the very person sabotaging this case she thought as she laid you down against the brick wall and gripped your dirty gun with both hands. The car was now pulling up to the alleyway. It was moving much slower, indicating that the driver would stop soon.
