Y/N's POV:

The ticking of the clock filled the silence between you and Wednesday. Counting down the seconds before one of you blew up. The band posters looked like the band members were on the edge of their seats. Everything was still, including your mind. It didn't want to come up with a way to start the story.

Wednesday's eyes bore into you body. Once in a while you would glance at them, hoping the lights reflection would tell you how to start your life story. Hoping they would be similar to the magic 8 ball.

Burying your face into your hands you sigh. "I'm not very close to my parents. Honestly, I'm practically don't exist to them. The only people who seems to really acknowledge me for who I am not what I am is my Godfather and his son the prince."

She nods. It was clear the gears in her brain were moving. Crunching the new information into dust to possibly analyze it under her watchful eye's microscope. To compare her internal notes about you to fully understand why you did the things you did.

You continued to explain the relationship. You explained how your mother was distant and your father was close for a time but once you entered your teens he grew distant. Even more than your mother. Only in front of the public did he show a sign of affection. A bit more than your mother who would only show it by touching your shoulders for photos. Even with her hands on you, you couldn't feel her. You only ever felt her glare on you. You couldn't help but wonder if it was because you looked almost like her. But instead of looking like mother and daughter, you both looked like siblings rather than mother and daughter.

"I see. Would you like me to deal with them?" Wednesday tries to ask nonchalantly yet the dead grip of her left hand on your bedsheets begs to differ. You couldn't help but wonder if she imagined that she was crushing your parents or choking them.

"Let's not do that. It's understandable that they do that though. Our positions we can't get too attached to people for it is a sign of weakness. Sadly, I've already shown weakness in that area since I can't help but help people in need. I must be real stupid thinking that kindness is the key to change the world-"

"Agree. You're too kind Y/L/N. It's irritating yet I can't help but find it fascinating at times. It is that stupidity that makes you, you." She avoids your gaze by continuing to stare at the door. Yet, she still holds the sheets and the hand. Although her grip on your hand wasn't as tight as it was on the sheets, you felt her concern. Her fear that you might change because the world wanted you too. "It's stupid wanting to change the world yet it is a brave thing that many are too scared to do by untraditional means."

Warmth floods your face along with a small smile. "You sadly remind me of my dumb brother. Maybe, I should start waterboarding you daily to help you maintain your resolve."

"Do... do you always hurt him?" Memories of your brother begin to flash before your eyes.

"Yes, I want him to be strong. I want him to fear no one but me in this world. We both know the world likes to walk on us outcasts- especially people like him. He isn't like you, he's too scared to fight back," she sits up, straighter than ever as if she is a general giving a speech. "I won't always be there for him. I won't always be there to save him from whatever trap he fell into nor avenge him."

She finally looks over to you. "What's the matter?"

"I.... I had a brother," you whisper very softly. If it weren't for Wednesday training her body to pick up on the unnoticeable and spending so much time with Thing she would've missed it. Her eyes widen a bit with shock as she fully moves her body to face you. "And no, we weren't half-siblings. We were fully siblings. I'm not sure why my parents never told me about him but I found out eventually. Ironically enough, he was always close by yet my parents never realised even though they had cut him off and no one in the court talked about him. Only the underground did."
